  1. I'm not happy with the transfer window so far, but I think the wailing and gnashing of teeth over this game is a bit ott. We'll likely get beat, but we put in performances at Man u and Spurs last season that show we can sometimes turn up at top clubs and not be embarrassed. So they beat us 4 nowt last time? Elliot, Obertan, Simpson, Perch, Gosling and Bigirimana played that day. Think we can put up a much better performance tonight.

  3. Aye, congratulations. She must have the patience of a saint.
  4. Where would you place the bar on earnings alone, to separate working and middle class? Range Number of taxpayers £4,745 to £6,000 1,440,000 £6,000 to £7,000 1,160,000 £7,000 to £8,000 1,590,000 £8,000 to £10,000 2,950,000 £10,000 to £12,000 2,760,000 £12,000 to £15,000 3,650,000 £15,000 to £20,000 4,950,000 £20,000 to £30,000 6,000,000 £30,000 to £50,000 4,090,000 £50,000 to £70,000 859,000 £70,000 to £100,000 410,000 £100,000 to £200,000 300,000 £200,000 to £500,000 89,000 £500,000 to £1 million 16,000 Over £1 million 6,000 If we're splitting it into three equally sized groups, then of the 30 million tax payers in the country, the bottom ten million earn £12,000 or less, the middle ten million earn up to £30,000 and the top ten million earn more than that. Even if you try to make a pyramid of pay, it's very difficult to say tou're working class if you earn more than £20k... Range Number of taxpayers £4,745 to £20,000 18,500,000 £20,000 to £50,000 10,090,000 £50,000 to £1000000 1,680,000
  5. The above are my phone podcasts. The ones I listen to straight away when they come out. There were more, but don't find the time regularly to listen to that many, so I also have my tablet podcasts which are for easy listening any time down the line, for an all day decorating job, or something. Basically consists of the radio 4 podcast library...in our time, desert island discs, More or Less...
  6. You listened to Pod Wars (The pod olympics) yet. I was creased for the rap battle.
  7. Indeed. Greewald wrote about this over a year ago as Poitras herself was being detained whenever she travelled... http://www.salon.com/2012/04/08/u_s_filmmaker_repeatedly_detained_at_border/ The positive thing is that while that was a little seen article in an online magazine that garnered little attention, this time it's front page news due to the enormity of the stories Greenwald has broken. The other positive is that even people that were defending the NSA and the secrecy which governments were working under are now railing against the abuses of power... http://dish.andrewsullivan.com/2013/08/18/cameron-proves-greenwald-right/

  9. Kermode - film reviews. Even though I don't watch films anymore, it's still good. Couple of hours a week. NPR All songs Considered - They cover world, folk, classic, latin, electronic, rap, rock, indie, alt...everything. Their weekly music review is great for new releases, but hey come into their own when sxsw roles around, they stream dozens of live shows in their entirity. Half an hour a week. Common Sense with Dan Carlin - Independent news commentary that ignores party politics. About an hour a week. He does hardcore history too which looks at everything from Ghengis Khan through the Romans to WW2. Less regular, you might get one topic every few months, but he does hours and hours on a topic when he does it. Like a free audiobook. Danny Baker - The best football podcast because it's not about football. The sausage sandwich game is sooo played out by now though. Real Time with Bill Maher - a more party political show. Supposedly HBO's impartial news/comedy show, Maher is making me more annoyed every week with his dedication to the dear leader. He donated a million to the cause but still claims impartiality. I still listen for the odd occasion when they have someone on to talk the truth, like Glenn Greenwald or that Black Dude with the crazy hair and teeth. Tell em Steve Dave - I stopped listening to Kevin Smith ages ago, but his buddy Walt Flanagan is probably my favourite podcaster. Advise listening from the start because I imagine the in jokes and references are nonsensical to a newbie.

  16. Aw, bless. When I was a child at games i used to try and make deals with god. "Please let us score and I will do my homework rather than play on the computer".
