The difference being RAs loans have largely been used to fund the development of a title winning team, whereas fmas loans have been used to cover the cost of not undertaking due dillegence and a completely avoidable relegation. Due dilligence or not, those loans (or that money) still needed injecting into the club, if not him, who ?? Did it? About £45m was a structured loan for the stadium redevelopment and there are plenty of clubs still carrying similar or larger overall debts. The clubs finances needed addressing but far too many have bought into the scaremongering hook, line and sinker. It's an absurd position to take that they concentrated on one deal for 7 months waiting till the last day or 2 to switch targets, without ever saying "look, either do the deal or we have to move on" after 4 months or summat.
