  1. Buzzing. Just left my mate's but I'll carry on the drinking myself if I have to! GET IN
  2. Hmm how about we lose, but they only draw and lose their next 2 games (let's forget Reading for a moment)? Going to be a week of contemplating every possible eventuality...
  3. So what's the deal if Huddersfield beat Fulham? We have to beat Preston,. but we manage that and then go on to beat Cardiff and it doesn't matter what Huddersfield do against Wolves or in their 2 games that follow?
  4. I'm going to be a nervous wreck for the next seven days (less so hopefully after Saturday).
  5. They fail to beat Fulham and we win against Preston and the job is as good as done, no? Sounds fairly easy on paper but I thought today's game looked 'easy' on paper too, and look how we played.
  6. Mbemba and Clark for the remainder of the season for me - only worry with that is they've not played together before.
  7. Why does the commentator keep going on about how this will be celebrated wildly by Brighton fans? It doesn't really change a thing, they were up before this started.
  8. A draw for Derby and I'll be feeling a fair bit more comfortable to be honest.
  9. Yup, can only hope today's result really puts some fire in them (and Rafa) and that they really go for it over the next couple of weeks. I hope they were seething in the dressing room and at each other's throats. I hope some of them stood up and actually showed some fucking leadership. I really do think we'll see a reaction against Preston (even if there's unbearable pressure on the players to produce a result), but even that might not be enough as we can play well and still drop points due to defensive mistakes. If we don't go up my mind will always jump straight to the QPR and Leeds home games and how we managed to somehow let 4 point slip.
  10. Agreed, don't think anyone was demanding we went out and spent massive amounts of money, a couple of loan signings to strengthen the squad would have helped. Rafa isn't a stupid man, surely he realised if you're forced to play the likes of Colback then there's something wrong with your recruitment. Like you say though perhaps if we had spent money we'd be in a better place, to improve the squad from a position of strength. Why not spend a few quid to make it that more likely we'd get promoted? The proceeds from promotion would far outweigh what we could have spent in January.
  11. I really want to blame Rafa, for making so many changes, but I'd be lying if I said I couldn't see the logic in it (the players worked very hard against Leeds) before today's fixture. In retrospect it's an error on his part although I don't think just keeping the same 11 would have guaranteed an especially better performance than what we put out today.
  12. We've pretty much been a good game day (win for us coupled with losses elsewhere) away from more or less sealing it for a while now, but the day we beat WIgan aside results haven't gone our way.
  13. Just desperate for this season to end now - whether we go up, or we stay in this division. I just can't believe how we're managing to make things so difficult for ourselves after being so comfortable for most of the season. Sick of these dreadful mistakes. We've completely bottled it in the last month or so - we were a far better side in the first half of the season, perhaps when there was a lot less pressure on us (and we had a fitter, more complete squad). I think I'm repeating what someone else just said but I do think it'd be job done already if Clark and Gayle weren't out. We've had numerous chances this year to put it to bed more or less and we've either ruined a positive result with an awful mistake (Clark against QPR, Lascelles against Leeds) or just put in a non-performance like today. We're very lucky that even if results don't go our way, it's still in our hands come the game on Monday. Unbelievably if we lose that and Huddersfield win today and against Wolves then by the end of Tuesday week we could be third.
  14. Should have kept De Jong at the club. His natural position, has experience, leadership qualities (didn't he captain Ajax before he joined us?), and probably felt he had something to prove to the club after his many injury woes. On paper I can see why he's stuck with Diame (athletic powerhouse) and Perez (more intricate) but they've both simply not been good enough.
  15. There's logic behind it the changes, don't know why you're so oblivious to it - not saying it was warranted. Another terrible thing about today is that Reading are only 6 points behind us now, with 3 very winnable games coming up. A single win for us will keep them out of the picture but it's still nerves-inducing.
  16. It doesn't come in the final week, it comes next week (Tuesday, day after our game against Preston).
  17. We were half decent in the first half of the season, when our best players were consistently fit. I don't agree with anyone who says we've been awful all season at all. Gayle being out has cost us massively and Shelvey hasn't been the same since his ban. We've bottled it today, simply. Didn't see the whole thing but problems all over the place, both on the pitch and in the manager's head. Far too many mistakes in this team, coupled with the odd non-performance such as today. After Friday we should have been hurting and really gone at these, to be so lethargic against a vey mediocre team is just disgraceful.
  18. Serious words need to be had in that dressing room. Absolutely shocking stuff. To falter like we have and for it to actually end in failure would rank as probably the worst experience of my life as a NUFC fan. Issues all over the shop. I don't care if they're not fully fit, Gayle and Clark have to play from here on out because they're so much better than their replacements.
