  1. No it wasn't. I was feeling pretty comfortable for the last portion of the game till the own goal. They'd run out of steam and we looked the more likely to get a third to wrap the game up. It's not like one of their players was going to get his head till the ball if Clark didn't, either.
  2. We were all over them in the second half especially after we scored. Had more than enough chances to make it 3-1 and put the game to bed. Maybe we deserved a point for the first half performance but the second half? How have we got more than we deserved?
  3. Sick to death of these sides getting late winners, man.
  4. Best I don't talk to anyone about football for a few days. Livid.
  5. As much as people are angry about this, I'm more bothered about the fact that we've not managed to bring in as cover for (or an alternative to) Shelvey. Our left wing has got us into a pretty healthy position as it is. We're far too reliant on Shelvey being available as the other options in the centre of the park are injured (Anita), laughable (Colback), or non-existent. Townsend would have been a good signing and if the issue was £2m then that's pathetic, but I think that saga has overshadowed a perhaps even greater concern.
  6. Leeds on their way to defeat at Oakwell. Class day of football this.
  7. Bad result is Reading winning to be honest - Brighton are going up regardless so not fussed about them. All about Reading and Huddersfield tbh.
  8. Apparently only one club has won this league with more than seven losses - Bournemouth went up after losing 8 times. Brighton are playing like the best team in the division and the stats support that, they've just drawn a few more games than we have. I'd be delighted with our season if it wasn't so expectant that we'd go up. I still think over the course of the season that we'll go up, mind.
  9. Something seriously wrong with Perez. He's been dreadful this season, does not put in the required effort and his body language is just off. By far the biggest disappointment of the season for me.
  10. Spot on. Must be pretty straightforward coming up with a plan to play against us, as an opposition manager you know more or less exactly how we're going to set up and how we're going to play. It's a very tired argument now and it's one of several options but why can't we play with two up top occasionally? Why do always bring in the same subs at the same time (usually too late)? Why cant we start with Lazaar and Yedlin for once and give the opposition something different to play against (pace)?
  11. Yup. And how pointless is Gouffran? Offers nothing on the wing. No right back is going to look at him and think they're in for a tough game.
  12. I don't think anyone is pissing their pants. There's a multitude of reasons to be worried though - certain players starting every week, Rafa's inflexibility, reliance on Shelvey, teams around us being consistent etc.
  13. It's a poor record and the losses have not been against the top sides in the division. Probably repeating myself here but personally I think it's currently Brighton and Reading's to lose, and Huddersfield keep on getting points too despite often not playing all that well. We can lose games here and there if the sides around us are doing the same - but they're not. In fact they've got the ability to win games without steamrolling the opposition - they find a way that we can't. Today was the second time in three matches that Reading have found a winner in second half injury time. They have a cutting edge we really lack.
  14. No doubt we'll put in a superb performance against Birmingham and then lose 1-0 against Brentford.
  15. Huddersfield and Leeds won as well, by the way. Now a 6 and 7 point gap between us and them respectively and they're both in good form and you'd expect them to pick up points every time they play.
  16. I see Reading got the winner in the 93rd minute, again. It'll sound so immature and childish of me, but I really wish they'd just fuck off
  17. Anita is also far too small and weak to excel in this league. He gets out-muscled far too often. Fair enough if he's playing against someone of the stature of say Jesus Navas but in this league... ? Absolutely had enough of him, I find it impossible to believe that Yedlin is any worse defensively even if he's a very attack-minded full back. Same with Dummett - offers fuck all. The players we all laughed about last time we were in this league (Smith etc) were all significantly more influential and effective.
  18. I'm just bitter towards Brighton and Reading now, fair play to them, they keep picking up points even if they don't play well. Often through late goals. Seems they can find ways through sides like Blackburn that we can't. Frankly at this very moment my money would be on them two to go up, but I do think we'll be alright once Shelvey is back and we add to the squad. Anita, Perez, Colback, Dummett and Gouffran can do one. Should all be subs at bench in this league, never mind the Premier League.
  19. He's the closest thing to a true out and out CM we've got if Shelvey is out. I, and I'm sure many others, pointed out in the summer how we needed another playmaker. It was the one obvious position that we didn't and don't have at least 2 options for. Probably Rafa's biggest mistake - did he really feel he could trust the likes of Colback to do a job in the centre of the park?
  20. Absolutely fuming. Dreadful, dreadful day. Teams around us picked up points AND have a game in hand. We don't play in the league again for 2 weeks. Painful to watch, that match. Need 3-4 good signings to make things comfortable and then I'm not so sure. 7 losses already is just pathetic. Brighton have lost just twice all season.
