  1. Doubtful IMO, he'll probably feel he has a few seasons left in him at Championship level at least.
  2. I count HMHM replying to my posts these days as my most significant social achievement on here.
  3. What an absolute fuckwit Carver is... sitting there waving vacantly with a big stupid grin on his face like he's never been in front of a camera before. Fucking hell...
  4. Just on that last note, Sissoko staying here will be evidence to the contrary surely? If he was playing better, or in a better team, he'd be able to get his CL move. Now he has to suck it up and play for us again next year due to his poor performances. As for the main point, you're basically saying that Ings' form fell away towards the end of last season, and was contributive to Burnley being relegated? I'd say that's a fair statement. That happens though, and the team in general should have been able to handle certain players falling away; that they didn't suggests that they were overly reliant on him. That said, all that's going to happen is that Liverpool will buy him, ruin him as a player, and he'll end up playing for Stoke or someone - which is probably about his level.
  5. There is definitely an element of this on here... I think it took about 9 months before anyone said anything to me directly outside of the intro thread
  6. Llambias was at least something approaching capable, even if he was an utter fuck of a human being. Charnley has almost all of his negative qualities, and zero of the positive ones. I'd prefer Llambias to still be here, out of the two.
  7. Why is everyone so convinced that Krul is going to leave?
  8. ...The club needs good PR though. Currently it has supporters jacking in season tickets in their droves. I'm pretty sure Graing meant the club rather than Ashley himself.
  9. He's created enough optimistic doubt in my mind that I think he may have wrangled himself a slender chance to improve the club's relationship with supporters here. My main gripe was always that nothing was explained and no dialogue was created between the club and ourselves, meaning we were always filling in blanks with random guesswork and analysis; if his interview marks a move away from that uncertainty then at least we'll have a better idea of where we stand. I would credit Ashleyout.com for this to be honest; despite some skepticism on my part, I have to concede that they have forced him out into the open - admittedly with the added pressure of relegation.
  10. ...is he...is he for real? This is all just PR right? He can't actually mean he's finally going to run the club properly can he... after all this time that'd be too much to hope for.
  11. Mad Max: Fury Road Absolutely the best film I've seen this year. Utterly fucking awesome. Yes, I'm uncultured - I can't help loving films like this though!
  12. If you say so - I do genuinely think you add something to the boards; maybe I'm just not seeing the more reasonable debates as I don't read every thread. I also have admittedly seen some more good natured ribbing, so perhaps I misspoke. Long day and all that...
  13. Mako, have you tried not vociferously rejecting the ideas of everyone who takes up a topic for discussion with you? If you gave a little ground, tried to understand the other side of the argument and acknowledged the point, even if you continue to disagree with it, you'd likely get some reciprocal traction on your own ideas. Almost every thread has become a shit slinging contest between you and another miscellaneous member of the board. </Kissinger>
  14. Ah ok, well then yes. Although he'll not be drawing up shortlists or anything like that. If Charnley's the one doing that, then he's actually the one in the position to influence the outcome. On transfer strategy, I agree. I think you could interpret his comments as him saying as much anyway; he makes sure that the club is maximising it's financial prospects (allegedly), while Charnley (God help us) ensures we perform. Either way, maybe this whole sorry affair has got under his skin at least - I doubt he'll allow us to come this close to the abyss again...and it doesn't sound like relegation is going to get rid of him...
  15. You think so...? I sometimes wonder where he'd find the time to be honest, given that we're not his only focus. It makes sense that a lot of the stuff that goes on would have to be at the door of people he can delegate to.
  16. Agree that Charnley needs to go. It sounds as though Ashley has no say at all on the football matters, just the financials. As such, this shitstorm is at Charnley's door, really.
  17. @ the whole thread so far. @ - I reckon that given Carver gave Ashley an 'ultimatum', it'll have to be wrapped up pretty soon. It's not going to be Carver though, that much is clear.
