So I was on holiday skiing last week with no access to internet or anything. Did I miss anything? I see we picked up 4 points while I was away... should probably go away more often if that's the case.

Maybe Parky is right, having Leazes back would be such a drama boost
-
You need to be registered to be able to see it, it seems. What was the meltdown about...?
-
I think ewerk is basically referring to the democratic political model here - we have to trust that the government knows what it's doing without it necessarily telling us all of it, 'for our own protection'. Same as if clubs revealed everything - they risk putting themselves at competitive disadvantage.
-
But would a UEFA/FA agent work for them as well as their own agent/self would? If there's no fee being paid to the UEFA agent, it's not in his interests to drive the price up, just to get it over with. I'm not saying it wouldn't help like, but it's not as though ordinary people need assistance in negotiating their pay. Although I wonder if we'd all be doing a lot better if we had agents.

I think a number of lower league players actually represent themselves to be honest. Although my source for this is Football Manager...
-
That's an interesting one but it's likely to be problematic for lower league players, many of whom seem to rely on family members. EDIt - Andrew got there first
-
It's annoying not to know but the only real reason I can think of to reveal it would be to satisfy fan/media curiosity. Might take the pressure of the players a bit if the fee isn't published. Of course it could also mask all kinds of shady deals but I have the feeling they'd happen anyway.

Apparently about £1.5m? I meant his wages more than anything though. EDIT - unless you mean an agreed 'buy' fee - I think that was about £6m.
-
But we gave him a 24 hour window for this in the past and he didn't post, iirc.
-
Would any of them even come back though?
-
I thought we got rid of him months back...if he's here and injured, why haven't we terminated his loan? Why are we paying for this?

I've seen forums die before and I don't think this one is particularly close. The thing is, there's no reason TT shouldn't be able to go on indefinitely as interest in the club, generally, shouldn't wane. If there was more optimism about the team in general, I think there'd be more people on here posting. Given that the only real 'opinion' to have on anything currently is the extent to which Mike Ashley is hated, I reckon that many people simply don't feel that they can add anything to the discussion that hasn't been said multiple times over. The banned individuals, from memory, would be considerably more aggressive in their criticism, but I'm not sure that this is necessarily something we'd need. That discussion you all had earlier in this thread where The Fish was trying to argue for the club having potentially made a good decision on Carver if they hire someone new and competent in the summer and the rest of you were arguing about it was actually a good example of a forum debate that didn't get out of hand (beyond a bit of chest beating from certain people - harmless enough though). If we'd had Aeris or DTT etc, it would have descended into people flinging abuse at each other. Y'know, more so than usual. Finally, I've always preferred smaller communities anyway - you get to know everyone better.

Nah, Leazes wouldn't come back unless we sent him a handwritten apology and some antivirus software.
-
They're absolutely creaming themselves over this on the palace forum. Someone commenting that he's a remarkable player, 'always been quality when i saw him play' etc... Fucks sake, do we sound that bad over our signings?
-
Wow, looks like they're pulling out altogether. Maybe that's why Chiles was moved on. Unless this is related to Virgin's move to complain about the amounts being paid to Ofcom. ITV could band in with them on that.

It's massively confusing actually I rely on avatars to identify people on here, not names... -
Wasn't R.Taylor our preferred free kick taker back when he was fit? I don't know if that makes up for his shortcomings elsewhere, but he has a decent fucking shot on him.

@@The Fish - you know that you ignoring CSD is meaning that after he's had a few guesses, the rest of us can't make the same guesses without looking like we're just copying him? In this case he's made three suggestions, all of which sound possible, and it sort of means that none of the rest of us can say anything unless we've totally ignored his posts. That's not something I expect you to do anything about I'm just saying that it's happening. On that note, Fowler. I'll just try to ignore his posts in here I guess. -
Pardew really didn't seem to have it in him to properly coach attacking play. In the final third we were either reliant on individual brilliance (Cabaye) or we were utterly blunt. Same problem with free kicks and corners I think. Pardew just wasn't a creative manager when it came to breaking teams down or exploiting weakness.
