1. I was at the match, I watched MOTD and I can't remember either player doing it. I blame the drink tbh. 67183 At the match I wasn't sure if it was Ameobi or Faye, I was 90% sure it was Ameobi on the Sky replay when I was sobre the next day. Embarassing if I'm wrong like.... One thing I will say about Shola when he's on that left wing is that he gets involved in a lot of moves - he doesn't hide. His lack of skill is still apparent though.
2. Jesus wept! 66941 Why JW here? I thought Ameobi looked a complete twat for clapping the sending off of Gilberto, especially since he must have known it wasn't a bookable offence. It would have pissed you off had it been the other way round, at least it should have. 67073 Because, it appears to me at least, that Shola had a good game so people have to look for the most insignificant thing to slag him off for. Maybe, just maybe he thought it was karma for the way Gilberto contributed to Jenas getting sent off in the first game of the season. IMO if you think that what he did makes him look a twat then you must think just about every player looks a twat in every game at some point. 67094 I didn't like it, that's all - I can't remember what Gilberto's contribution to Jenas getting sent off was. Did he clap? If so then that's fair enough. I can't imagine Shearer doing this though, he'd normally appeal to get him to stay on in the interests of fairness.
3. Is it only me that thinks this song should be consigned to history? I was there that day and I cannot think of a worse event caused by our supporters in the time I have supported NUFC. I've seen all the coin, golf ball and dart throwing and that was bad enough but glorifying the petrol-bombing of an 'away' supporter is just disappointing to me, that's all. I'm not trying to be 'holier than thou' or trying to appear some sort of killjoy, it's just that that particular song relates to a particularly dark day in our history and the bad old days of soccer hooliganism in general imo. 67165 You've got a point I suppose, it rarely gets used nowadays anyway. At least it is original even if it is dodgy in context, I wish we could get some more songs unique to us. Liverpool slums is indeed cringeworthy; you'll never get a job is even worse.
4. After the Exorcist Kermodes second favourite is Brazil, which I've already said I hated. He says "The only thing I'm certain about is that The Exorcist is both my own favourite film and the definitive Best Film Ever Made." Who's he to say what's the definitve best film ever made. Just leave it at "my favourite". I often agree with him though. 67086 Personally, I thought the Exorcist was utter rubbish. That bit where her head does a 360, was it supposed to be funny or what? It would definitely get my vote as the most over-rated horror film of all time.

6. Proper football fans would have been at the match though, and getting pissed in the pub at night.
7. Get it out and judge for yourself, but imo I'd rather rub my balls with a cheese grater for a couple of hours then sit through that shit again. Just out of interest how old are you Renton? 66950 I'm 35. What's that got to do with anything, hope you're not trying to patronise me. For some reason you really hated the film, but more than one person on here disagree with your assessment. Furthermore, check out the reviews for it, I have yet to see a negative one. I'm not saying you should judge a film by what a film reviewer says, but it makes your opinion that it is the worst film ever sound a bit unlikely imo.
8. It's a matter of opinion apparently. Seriously, ignore Whacky and Alreetlike and make your own mind up.
9. Oh yes of course, I had forgotten the link between Welsh Dragon and Bellars! (I thought you were welsh for ages! ) 66781 The first time you posted I'm sure you had a flying pig one, didn't you?
10. That's because the media are constantly adding fuel to the terrorist hysteria by changing schedules for stories like this! Seriously though, when they bumped MotD, I'm pretty sure they thought it was an accident by then. Incidentally, there was a big fire in Shields about 3 years ago, with barrels of chemical exploding in the air like fireworks. Whilst nothing like as big as today's incident, I don't think it even got a mention on the national news.
11. Is that what your mam told you when you got your lunch money nicked? 66776 No, I learned to fight back, and have since found it applies to adults as much as kids. Seriously, Souness is a cowardly bully: FACT.
12. That perfectly describes Souness, you contrary twat! I don't like Wenger's after match comments, but then I don't like most managers. However, I totally respect what he has done as a manager. Arsenal can play some breath-taking football at times, almost reminiscent of Keegan's finest team. OK, they are a bit shit at the moment, but they will be back under Wenger. And unlike Ferguson or Mourinho, he's done it without breaking the bank. 66663 one of the best managers in World Football. If he came into Newcastle to replace Souness, I think we would see a few of those u-turns which are quite popular around here 66714 Here he goes with his fucking u-turns again. To the pair of you: funnily enough, it hasn't escaped my attention that Wenger is a good manager and that Arsenal play good football. I just happen to think that he can also be a hypocritical bellend. By the way, I bet Leazes Mag KNEW he would be a success after his first game on arrival from Japan. He KNEW it and he's never changed his mind since.......cos that's just the kinda guy he is. 66765 Souness is also a hypocritical bell end though. I love the way he only talks to the TV media if we win now, otherwise he leaves it for Murray. That makes him a coward as well, does it not? 66768 Aye, Graeme Souness has always struck me as the cowardly type like. 66770 Glad we agree about something then. All bullies are cowards you know.
13. Yep, black sky here too and I'm about 15 miles further south from you. What's more, I heard it! I was up seeing to the nipper at 6am this morning and heard a tremendous low boom which was preceeded immediately by a vacuum. Enough to make the windows rattle I actually thought it was distant thunder and thought nothing more of it.... Until I turned the news on! What's more, I've got to drive up there tomorrow morning to go to work and they're reporting at the moment that the roads are all likely to be closed for fear of further explosions. As for the north/south divide, frankly that's absolute bollocks. I seem to remember the gas explosions in Gateshead and North Shields some 13 years ago hit the national news, yes they didn't take over the TV schedules but then, although there was always a threat from the IRA, we weren't living in the same terrorist climate that we are these days. An explosion, wherever it is in the country is going to demand national TV coverage unfortuntately. 66751 So you don't think the media in this country is a bit London-centric? It's pretty natural really, and doesn't bother me too much, but it's a fact! Stopping scheduled TV for a story like this is a complete over reaction imo, and it wouldn't have happened if it had been in Boro. 66757 The explosion didn't happen in London though did it? 66758 Emil Empsted is practically in North London, isn't it?

16. Seriously now. He traps the ball farther than most passes. His ball skills are appalling but he does serve as an undeniable annoyance to a side. Thankfully the side he was an annoyance to yesterday wasn't his own. Yes he did step up the level of his game yesterday, but that still didn't stop me from yelling at the TV for him to "Get out of the way you f*cking donkey! Just give the ball to an arse player why don't you?" 66741 My friend's work are sponsoring a donkey in the third world and are allowed to give him a name. I suggested Shola.

Of course, us shooting up the league and winning a cup might persude him differently.
18. Bloody hell, it's an explosion that has seriously injured about 30 people and people were unsure about fatalities. People also thought it might have been a terrorist attack.Still a fairly major incident, and a developing one. And not everyone has access to news channels! And MOTD was a repeat anyway! 66674 Only two people detained in hospital tbh. 66706 Well, yes, but at the time it was thought of as a major incident, and that should take priority over a repeat of Match of the Day. 66713 I don't agree, as has been pointed out, there are dozens of news channels and if you don't have them by now, tough luck I would say.
19. I don't recall ever saying if you join the police you should expect to be shot at, but you have to accept the risk. In truth, medical staff are at risk of assault by drunks and smack heads, fireman have things lobbed at them, people working in shops etc are abused. That's the reality of the situation. 36 policeman killed in 20 years is less than two a year, and this includes car crashes etc. Whilst in an ideal world it would be none, this actually strikes me as a pretty low rate, and, although its just a guess, I bet more people have been killed by the police or have died in their custody over this period. I wonder how many police are killed in the states btw?
20. Bollocks, its superb. Try watching it all the way though before judging it. 66705 Watched up to where she stuck the pic in her mates neck, fucking pony. You really need to get a grip if you think thats a good show. Tombraider on Acid if you ask me 66710 Well, that was nearly the end actually. It's a matter of opinion, but it was praised in virtually every review, check out a meta-review site like Rotten Tomatoes. Have to say, if you are serious that the Descent is the worst film ever, I'd be interested to know what you count as a good horror film.
21. like the poor sod shot for carrying a chair leg? HE KNEW he had a chair leg - the coppers thought it "might" be a gun he's dead - they're alive and drawing their pensions 66454 complete bollocks 66458 what is bollocks? that an innocent man carrying a chair leg was shot dead? That the police got off without a charge??? 66654 bollocks that you are trying to paint the police as trigger happy mobsters. Fact is, if the guy was stupid enough to not heed their warning, and raise something that looked like a gun, there's no grounds for anyone to complain. In that situation, you would shoot first rather than be shot yourself, and you know it. Have you forgotten that dead lady copper from 2 weeks ago already ? Or are you one of these anti police people ? Shame she didn't have a gun, if she had been able to deservedly blow their heads off first, her kids would still have their mother. And one of them is an asylum seeker.....no doubt the likes of you will be saying he should be allowed to stay in the UK after "doing his time"... We should drop the bastard out of an aeroplane in the middle of the Atlantic, after shooting him in the balls for what he did, then ask who else fancies a bit of the same 66682 Regards the police women who was killed, tragic though it was, wasn't she the first in over 20 years? I would say that was a pretty good reason NOT to arm the police, if they were routinely armed, there would almost certainly be more gun related fatalities amongst criminals AND police. Then there's the little fact that the majority of police don't want to be armed.... We all know the police have a difficult job Leazes, but they signed up for it. The problem is, you seem to think they should be above the law.

24. Lose games and the manager goes. Win games and he doesn't. Common sense to me. Still don't see him lasting the season but yesterday was a good show. As was the performance down their place at the start of the season. I've said it on another thread but we need to play like that against the mediocre and the shite. Not just the big teams. Yesterday was a good day. Ower the moon. 66670 Arsenal are a mediocre team at the moment. Before yesterday, they had lost 4 out of 7 away games. It'll be interesting to see what we get against West Ham. Then Liverpool away will be the real test. I'll be surprised if we get more than a point from those two.
