1. Agree. Can we tempt them over here? The decent ones, that is. And I do realise HTT will go mental.
2. Not at all. Romario was a much bigger pain in the arse for Robson than Robert, he makes a direct comparison with them in his book. And Gemmill - both are flair franch players, who are tempermental and talk bollocks off the pitch. Class comparison tbh!
3. Aye, it's got to be 100% shite. Joke btw.
4. Laurent Robert or Craig Bellamy in a few years time will be interesting.....
5. Next weeks half time hero is going to be Marcelino I hear.
6. I'm only on this thread because you lot of bastids goaded me. And look who's turned up. Hi, Grimbo!
7. Very little baggage compared to Dyer imo. It'll be interesting to see if we improve without him though. 53748 You may or may not be right but it's a separate issue as far as I'm concerned. The problems Robert is having at Pompey highlight what Robson, Souness and Robert's team mates at Newcastle have had to put up with in my opinion. 53762 Well you're right, but that's where good management comes into it. Remember Cantona and Ferguson? Not that I'm comparing Cantona to Robert in terms of ability, but you get the point without me going further, I'm sure. 53766 Thing is though, Robson said he was the hardest player he ever had to manage (or words to that effect) and Perrin hasn't took long to fall out with him. I'll ignore Souness, because (rightly or wrongly) he had it in for Robert from day one IMO. 53771 Seond hardest after Romario I think you'll find. And that's the thing, he took the effort if he thought the player was worth it. But Souness can't/won't do this. Don't know enough about Perrin.

9. Agreed, that's why I'm so annoyed. If he'd even put in half the effort most players do, he would now be the best winger in the Premiership by a country mile. Now he's just unwanted at Pompey. Well done Laurent. I remember reading how he excelled at karate. horse-riding and football as a boy but decided the team sport would be the most challenging. Just no-one told him football was the team sport, apparently. Fuck, I sound as bitter as an Alan Oliver piece. 53750 Aye, that's what really pissed me off about Robert. All the ability in the world, but no interest in applying himself unless he felt like it. That coupled with the silly interviews etc. meant the bad eventually outweighed the good. 53755 Fucking hell man, stop talking in cliches. It's lazy. 53758 It's only a cliche because it's all true. Renton is seething. 53760 Well that's your opinion. Personally I don't buy it. All players have off days. When it happens to Owen, will it be because he can't be arsed or because he's just not playing well in that match? Your just shoe-horning Robert into your preconceived stereotype - you know, exactly the type of thing you criticise Oliver for doing. Lazy.

11. Ha ha! That's rich coming from you of all people!
12. Aye, because I'm so obsessed with what our ex-players do. Seriously, we all know he is tempermental. But I can think of several players still at the club with worse attitude problems. It's a balance. Like Alex says, its up for debate whether he is worth the bother or not. But since he won't play for us again, I'm really not that bothered.

14. Whoa! Apart from being absolutely huge, that picture looks doctored!
15. The year we cam third we played better than we do now. I really think its hard to deny that fact. When was the last time we have played really well in the league? Seriously? I don't think we've done it once under Souness.
16. It reminds me exactly of last year, so much so I'm getting deja vu. There is no evidence we can beat anyone half decent. I expect a pitiful performance against Chelsea. 53366 Massive difference. The current side is 10x better than last seasons. I'd say this season reminds me more of the 2002-3 season (sh*t start after 6 games, started getting results without playing well up until December, before kicking-on) 53616 I don't agree, we struggled to beat Birmingham and have not looked good at all so far this year. On paper we may have better players, but to coin a cliche, football isn't played on paper. In the 2002/2003 season we played very well at the beginning but were very unlucky. This year we have just been shit full stop. We'll find out soon enough if you're right though, according to you we'll finish third. Optimistic nut by name, Optimistic nut by nature.
17. well they don't seem to feel the need to slag this place off........................ 53530 We've become mackems of the forum world.
18. Ban this sick filth now! No to ovine porn!
19. Don't go and suckle at the titty of N-O, you know it's wrong. It's full of 10 year old charvers. I would like to know why the Bowyer thread was deleted however. Some over zealous modding methinks. 53508 Has anyone told Grassy... i mean Wacky? Right up his straza. Deleted due to legal implications I'm led to believe. 53512 Actually, N-O is Great, so I'm led to believe. Too cool for me though.

LoG the TV series was brilliant. Have to say the film is horse shit though.

22. So if you're not inside the ground, you unqualified to comment on performance? (not that I have actually challenged your view on that at all, but never mind). That sounds awfully close to all that superfan shit to me! I think you'll find that wasn't me but the admin of another certain Newcastle United forum, not that I'm splitting hairs like! 53477 Bollocks, I'm not being a superfan! How can you comment on something you haven't seen? If you had watched it on the telly then fair enough, but listening to it on the radio means you are taking the commentators word for what is happening. I don't think I have ever offered an opinion on a match I haven't seen, but no doubt some sneaky sod will prove me wrong! 53480 I re-iterate..... I'm haven't passed comment on the performance. You said we played shit and I haven't suggested otherwise (but keep arguing the fact that I have won't you?) Renton man you could start an argument in an empty room! 53483 Takes two to argue Craig, but point taken. Lets have a group hug. Edit: that hom SLP has beaten me to it!
23. They'll have to be extra wide to accomodate all the letters after his name.
