1. I agree he's a zealot and some of his "this is a fact" rhetoric leaves me uneasy at times but I admire his willingness to stand up and quite literally be a target for stating his views. I wish more people had the courage to stand firm against ignorance. 54513 I'm hopefully meeting Dawkins in the New Year. I agree he comes across as a zealot, and maybe a bit smug too, but he's preaching to the converted in my case, so I don't mind much. He married doctor Who's assistant as well. A cave girl iirc.
2. I think your second paragraph is the most relevant, and why they are different to us. They have a very small support and no football history to talk of at all really. I doubt they will establish themselves in the EPL long-term, but you never know.
3. Erm, what's the relevance? Surely your not trying to hijack this thread and turn it into an immigrant/PC gone mad one are you?
4. True. And it was the same as little as three seasons ago. We had bouncebackability.
5. The lift was fine, the buttons were a bit stiff for him....
6. No need to move at all if you love yourself. 54480 My God you've let these bastids affect your standards. 54483 It's true. I've become a pervert.
7. I remember that one. Had a few people fooled iirc!
8. No need to move at all if you love yourself.
9. Fair enough, but I can't see them finishing 3rd like we did in our first season. Good luck to them though. 54375 I agree with you there, 3rd would be a tall order. Thinking back to those days it makes me feel great inside, it was just a total joy to watch and it made you feel so proud. This is how we started the 94-95 season: Leicester 1 NUFC 3 NUFC 4 Coventry 0 NUFC 5 Southampton 1 West Ham 1 NUFC 3 NUFC 4 Chelsea 2 Arsenal 2 NUFC 3 NUFC 1 Liverpool 1 Villa 0 NUFC 2 25 goals in 8 games fanfu--ing tastic!!!!!!! 54426 and then Bilbao 54436 And finishing a disappointing 6th..... But you're right. Those first 3 seasons in the PL were practically the best in living memory.
10. No need to go to war over it, shame GW isn't more familiar with the Internets, might have saved some trouble. Not the best Source 54474 Jesus wept at that website tbh.
11. Not a very good one then. Look here. 6043 years.
12. The idea that a sentient being created the big bang is probably a lot easier to grasp than the singularity, which is for me, mind-blowing! But them creationists is probably right, the world is, what is it, 10,000 years old? 54452 6000 and a bit I think. It's been calculated from the old testament very accurately indeed. Oh, and we are all results of incest, and black people are black because they fell in a barrel of red wine iirc. 54458 I thought it was 12,000. Calculated by adding up the ages of everyone descended from Adam and Eve, if you please. 54460 6000. I'm willing to go to war over this, you heretical bastard!

14. Zathras, are you saying anything that is not demonstrable under controlled conditions cannot be regarded as a fact?
15. Is he for real? He's fucking modelled himself on him! 54432 How did you nick that photo? The site said no to me basically.
16. I think I've read all Dawkin's books except that one, and I completely agree with those sentiments. It sickens me how American soceity is "devolving" under the neocons. To be fair, it sickens a lot of Americans too. They are becoming a very divided country.
17. oh no it isnt,it's a whole science of evolutionary biology, which accounts for whole molecular evolutionary systems, not just humans,it even gives michael behe's irreducible complexity idea a good kicking.not new either as h.j muller was writing about it betwen the wars.i'll see if i cant find a handy synopsis of it. 54407 Apologies, i'm refering to the evolution from apes to humans. Also i'd like to point out that i am not a biologist nor have i studied, just read the occasional book and article. On this basis alone i am sure that the idea that humans came from apes is not a 100% certainty blah, blah, blah as per my earlier post. I'm not oblivious to the similarities but, though it may seem tongue in cheek, my every day observations would lead me to think apes descended from man. I see men/women behaving like monkeys all the time, and though i don't visiti the zoo often, i've yet to see a monkey act like me. Try and restrain yourselves chaps before you respond to that last bit 54411 I haven't got a clue what you are whittering on about here, but you've just admitted you are essentially ignorant about the topic, so its probably no loss. I doubt there are any biologists of any worth who doubt evolution is the mechanism that has created the biodiversity we see on the Earth, including ourselves. Their is still some argument over the the exact details of the mechanism of course. And I would agree that the evolution of a common ancestor of chimpanzees and man is one of the least understood areas. I think this is due to practical problems resulting from an incomplete fossil record (only a tiny proportion of skeletons fossilize) rather than those damn perverted aliens though.
18. Not the first lass in the locality to have had her cockles warmed by Nobby 54247 And I'm sure he will let you blow his trumpet if you ask nicely. Aimed at Catmag, not Alex btw.
19. Well they haven't got the crowd or Keegan really, have they?
20. Still not old enough to have witnessed us winning a domestic trophy.
21. I think that's down to their style of defending though. They're very negative and defend as deep as possible as they know they'll be under the cosh a lot no matter what system they play. That's why they went out and signed de Zeeuw & Henchoz. Two very average centre-backs, but who are excellent in the air, so when balls do fly into their box, 9 times out of 10, they'll get rid of it. Put either of them at Arsenal, Man U, etc. and they'd be found out no problem. 54014 Yet they almost got a draw against Chelsea, and by all accounts looked the better team? They're organised, use tactics, and have a great morale. That is the key.
22. Ruel Fox came here in his black and white socks. Well, I liked him.
23. Look Renton, here's a newsflash for you: THIS IS NOT MY OR ANYBODY ELSE'S STEROTYPE. IT IS WHAT LAURENT ROBERT IS REALLY LIKE. How many times does he have to go to the press with this sort of shit before you get that? The "La la I'm not listening" approach can only be taken so long. Sooner or later you'll come to your senses. :D 53937 He is stereotyped though, all the time. Terms like lazy French bastard are common currency, even when he's producing the goods. If its not a stereotype, where is the relevance that he's French? Its funny how people go hysterical because he says a few inappropriate things to the press, which others do all the time. I don't really want to comment on this latest "outburst" because of its source. What I will say is though I rarely disagreed with what he said when he was with us, including the infamous pre-Sporting comments, all of which were irrefutably correct. I tend to get more wound up over players get involved in sex and alcohol scandals personally, and generally being a waste of space, but there you go. 53963 53965
