  1. We're unbeaten save some dodgy reffing at Anfield. Unbeaten at home for yonks. Without 3 of our best players for recent matches. January transfer window is open in 14 games. I mean, you're probably right, and I agree entirely about the system working, but a push for Europa is definitely possible. But I'll settle for a cup.
  2. Always said VAR would just make things worse. It's been a transparent disaster, I prefer my disasters opaque.
  3. I didn't see or listen to the game and tried to keep up with it on the Sky app and on here. My observations. 1) Fortress St James still unbleached but obviously we need 3 points from most home games. 2) sounds like we were unlucky not to win with VAR over ruling a legitimate goal and hitting the woodwork twice. 3) This is an abortion of a thread. Started off bad enough with some gif frenzy (soz for my part in that) and the rest is just a pile on on Craig about who is to blame for the VAR balls up. 4) Gemmill went to this and must take his share of the blame the fucking Jonah.
  4. Whose the boss of this place now? I want to see the metrics for the use of these gifs presented as a vertical bar chart.
  5. Marlboro for the lads Marlboro light for the lasses, and then, for the frugal, there were those weird extra large Marlboro that were padded out with wood shavings and firelighter. They lasted longer and no fucker wanted to take one when you offered them around. Result
  6. Depends, but most the coastal properties in this area are up a height protected by dunes, headlands, or cliffs, probably about 30 to 50 metres. I'm about 150 metres from the sea at high tide but at a greater elevation than York. Even the Greenland ice shelf melting, which is probably less than 2 decades away, wouldn't have a big impact. Properties on the river are most at risk. The winter storms coming from the North Sea are something else though.
  7. The better we do in those 15 games, the easier the sell will be. Howay Howie and the virtuous cycle.
  8. With global warming undoubtedly a real thing now, I'd seriously recommend basking in sea fret on the coast rather than fry inland. There's a shortage of supply in North Tyneside though, and nice parts of Northumberland will have premium prices so guess it just depends on your budget.
  9. I remember him getting utterly raped by Ronaldo and co as they beat us 6-0 at old Trafford one January night. Not literally mind, although it felt like it. He was like a non-league player when he first joined us, absolute shite.
  10. Ots hard not to have the last word when you are objectively right though, which imo he is. Let this be the last word on the matter.
  11. Time wasting I'm sure is part of Howe's tactics. Uninjured players go down to break up the opposition play. Happens a lot, Pope was an example in injury time. I'm not complaining, it's legitimate, but we shouldn't complain when it backfires.
  12. "Big" teams get the big decisions, nothing new there (surprised you had to go back 23 years to make the point). We'll be benefitting in 10 years from this, and I doubt any of us will complain.
  13. Really, you want an extra official to keep time? Surely that's the ref's job and there is some discretion. Its not the thing to take away from this game though.
  14. I timed in just under 7 minutes on my stop watch, which admittedly, is a bit sad behaviour!
  15. Yeah, this is 100% right. The extra time was justified. The reaction of their bench and some fans was desperate. I'd rather we didn't time waste in extra time.
  16. Howe nailed it in his interview, we're not here to be liked. Can't wait to beat these fuckera at SJP.
  17. My views exactly, don't forget the blatant penalty we were denied against city too. If we play at this tempo we will get injuries and really don't have the depth to cope with this.
  18. Not sure I agree, it was worth going for the win, a chance to get a 28 year hoodoo off our backs.Hate playing it into the corner, all too often you’re dispossess anyway and still concede. It's not a winning mentality.
  19. I watched this in a bar with a mix of geordies, scousers, and neutrals. Canny hard to take the last minute winner by them and the scouse contingent went on like they'd won the league. I pointed out to the scouse bloke I had been chatting to all match (who was canny enough) in all honesty it was a pyrrhic victory for them. What do they think they can achieve in the league? I've no doubt they will qualify for the CL but they are now a completely lower level to Man City who I think might go unbeaten. The bloke said it depends on their head to head matches, but no way will they match city in those and even if they do they will drop much more points elsewhere, already have. If you look at trajectories, we are on the up and they are in decline. In 5 years, who's to say who will be the better team. I'd bet on us personally.
