Very good point. We actually signed loads of players - Routledge, Best, Williamson and Simpson/Wilson, plus a couple of loan - Fitz Hall and Van Aanholt. The squad was drastically improved and we had, iirc, Joey Barton coming back from injury. You could probably argue it was a better squad to start with too. -
He really is like a 5 year old. And that's probably being unkind to a lot of bairns. Everything is either "the best" or "the worst"

If the email's legit, i.e. from the Box Office/nufc, then it's most likely legit. I could imagine them being slapdash about the arrangements too. Canny prize like

Have you tried contacting the NUFC Box Office directly? Did the email say owt about when you'd get your tickets etc? And change 'guys' to 'lads' before Howmanheyman sees your post.

Dave in full 'We won't get relegated' mode -
The 'best' thing about that whole carry on was when the club issued that statement claiming it was all bollocks and Hughton's job was safe etc. Like you say, he was gone not long after that.

It reminded me of when KK was on the brink according to the press but we were collectively burying our heads in the sand because we'd sign Colo and Jonas. That's not a dig at anyone; if you haven't got a bit of romantic optimism where the club is concerned it's not worth bothering. Which probably explains why I don't really any more
-
The optimistic stance is that no business was done purely it was a poor window to buy in with vastly inflated transfers but even then Rafa clearly wanted an addition along the lines of Townsend to pretty much guarantee promotion and to give the whole club a boost. You have to suspect Ashley has resorted to 'gamble' (i.e. cunt) mode and that this won't end well (sooner rather than later). In that event, anyone giving him another chance is a fucking moron.

Take your point about those two not being a priority but because their roles are so vital to the team and because of what those roles are - main goalscorer and the most creative player in the team - it's probable they'll find it much more difficult next season. On the basis it's always far easy to destroy creativity / prevent goals than vice-versa they may be two positions where we need to strengthen. Accept they've at least earned a chance next season, Gayle in particular. There's other question marks over Shelvey too.
