That was one of the last times I saw it. Funnily enough it stopped going out live after that. Never seen it since I was a kid though. I don't see who it's relevant to tbh.

They should get Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood to do it

All these novelty bets encourage corruption. Probably difficult to outlaw something as difficult to define as a 'novelty bet' but, as you allude to, the bookies have to take some responsibility and apply commonsense. -
Does anyone outside the industry give a fuck about the Brits?

He'd be more up for it too I reckon

He is principled though

More caveats than Blaydon and Fop combined tbh

Reminded me of this: What a tagline -
An overhaul's usually inevitable when you go down

Anyone remember the rumour (in Bobby McFerrin killed himself territory) that all McDonald's employees had to make a contribution from their wages to the IRA?

Bet you had a cracking night at the Abbey Stadium though

What a day / night that was

Year after. You're probably getting mixed up because HBA played so little in his first season after that cunt De Jong broke his leg.
-
I was thinking the same as I posted that.

If Bruce hadn't had a decent start they'd be right in the shite now. That's 9 league games without a win. I don't think they'll go down but it would be fucking great if they did, the mackems did and we went up.

The perfect riposte would be "Shouldn't you be keeping your players away from the children's ward?"

I thought I'd seen something in the past about some money going to the player and some going to the BCCI but all the articles I've seen reporting it seem to think he gets £1.7m for the tournament.

To be honest it wasn't blaming / crediting them as such for Trump's victory as there's much more to it than that, it's more just a depressing trend of people (ironically the types that love the phrase 'sheeple' etc.) being so utterly convinced about certain things based on the scantest of evidence from those types of chancers. To a degree Brexit was another example, i.e. lets ignore the facts and believe the likes of Farage, Gove and Johnson. Even though it doesn't take much to work out most of their purported beliefs were just about their own political gain

I didn't mean you. If I did I'd have said. I was more thinking of the crackpot conspiracy theorists that take all the shite the likes of Jones comes out with about Bohemian Grove and 9/11 as gospel (even though almost all of it could easily be disproved with a small amount of research) then just dismiss the majority of the scientific community out of hand as being part of an establishment plot. I brought them up because a lot of those types are the exact same people who would have voted for Trump and will be lapping up his shite

I never said they were doing a good job, I disagree with the notion of the media's homogenity though. Also, if I was asked if I trusted the media I would have to ask what the term meant. In either case, you seem to be arguing against yourself, because if this nebulous body you refer to as the media are so influential then perhaps you can explain why the trust level is so low

I find it weird and depressing how some people will question the main stream press and hold them to account but don't apply any of the same to the likes of Trump and Alex Jones.
