I totally get your argument Gloom re: Root at 3 and without the daft shot he might've got a big score today. It just feels like they've shifted the problem a bit lower down the order. Amazing to see the extra pace Woakes has gotten. Shows a lot is down to technique and rhythm. When the likes of Finn and Harmison in the past were bowling well (and quick) it seemed relatively effortless to them.
