The best thing about all that sort of shit is that Germany don't even consider us to be rivals in a footballing sense. Which, of course, we aren't.

Broken Britain

Yeah I suppose. Tend to think they'll fall into line over the important shit though. For the reasons you gave for them rebelling, i.e. more arsed about power than anything else. Ultimately that means protecting your seat at the next GE

The commentators probably want to lay off the predictions for a bit after the past few weeks

I think he's canny sound. Probably because he one of the few who was canny towards the club and its fans when he was presenting on Channel 5 (iirc) when we had that Uefa Cup run under Roeder.

I didn't realise 'smart' and 'looks like Russell Osman' were synonyms.

Generic small time football blather thread 2015/16

Cheers, mate. Some good patter there and nice to have rival fans not spouting the usual stuff about us being deluded and all that. Also, if Hillsborough doesn't mean a lot to you, you're either too young to appreciate the gravity of what happened or you're not a proper football fan. It's just a terrible shame it took so long to get official recognition of what really happened.

I think just about every single political commentator has pointed to his many failures and his modest (in the most sympathetic cases) successes. Being the keen political observer that he is, CT will no doubt concede he's in a minority of one in arguing he's been a great PM. It's almost like he sets out to be contrary.

It's the old wind-up vs. actually being that stupid quadary again. Tories moved to the centre. What laughable bollocks. Ideological driven austerity that failed. Job creation is one thing but wages fell sharply whilst zero-hours contracts increased. Gay marriage is a good thing but simply a natural progression from civil parnterships. Not to mention the speculation Cameron regretted the move. Also, I think the deficit reduction thing is one of the most pernicious pieces of doublespeak of our age. In actuality the country's debt is much larger than it was when he came to power and it is increasing all the time and the government has pretty had to admit that there's no sign of the much vaunted surplus of payments any time soon (not in this Parliament anyway). So that's actually you listing an absolute abject failure as one of his key successes. The NHS is in a far worse state than when he inherited it. I don't think anyone who works in it would disagree. And as for the last one, the last budget made (I may have my figures slightly out) families earning less than £18K a year about two grand worse off. Etc., etc.

That 2nd referendum petition to Parliament has got over 4 million signatures now. I bet you any money a significant amount didn't bother to vote in the first one.

I worked in Belfast for four years and met one Leeds fan. Mind, I only met two Newcastle fans.
