  1. Used to love Ivanov and his feral look. Saw him play at SJP in euro 96. RIP
  2. I was taking the piss but I do largely agree with you about ultimately responsibility. It doesn't mean there isn't blame elsewhere.
  3. Down with the mackems, he's going down with the mackems...
  4. Aye, but you can guarantee that if there's any singer from our lot about it at the derby they'll play the morality card straight away.
  5. I said as much earlier. I suppose the saving grace is that his unbelievable levels of stupidity stopped him getting away with it.
  6. Aye, seems to encapsulate so much that is wrong with the modern game at the top level. As for being "blown away" by his story, it's not exactly one where he's triumphed over adversity to have a great career. He wasted his talent.
  7. Just guessing but I think they wouldn't have been in a position to legally suspend him without pay. The issue of playing him while all this was going on is a different matter. Aye, some other clubs might've done it too (even us, perhaps). It's utterly reprehensible either way. They could've handled it so much better. They wouldn't even have had to 'suspend' him. They could've said the stress and media spotlight were affecting him to the extent he wasn't able to play or whatever, without suggesting they thought he was guilty.
  8. Why would that even be worthy of mention if it was legal?
  9. Think we even got a 0-0 down there with JFK at the helm. Not expecting much like. Still just the 6 goals away from home this season
  10. So you've heard the Rumours then?
  11. I bet Johnson's that thick he thought he was legally ok so long as they didn't shag.

Bet this all relates to that admission about banging Pardew. All making sense (or should I say coming together?) now.

You didn't specify that but it's the same answer, more or less. I.e. different levels of the chemical. Variation would be accounted for by growing conditions such as the soil too presumably. Also, how do you know it's the exact same variety every time. When you're in a supermarket you can have what's means to be the same product but on the label it's a different variety grown by a different farmer and sometimes from a different country. Not that I've paid that much attention to that on onions but I've seen it on fruit etc. Anyway, the more of the sulphur-based compound released as a gas, the more your eyes water. I've also read before that keeping the root intact has an impact as more of the chemical is found there.

I had to look it for him then paraphrase what is essentially a layman's explanation

It does, man. It basically states that the irritant is caused by a chemical which is released by cutting the onion and the level of that chemical varies by species. Which is more or less the answer I gave you on the previous page.

If only there was some sort of resource available where you could find this out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onion#Eye_irritation
  17. I think they're just using the correct legal term. I do take your point though
  18. The ethos behind his bid to play better football is a reason I want to see him succeed, I must admit. I just don't have a lot of faith in him because of his previous track record and his inability to get results here. Plenty of sides have gone down playing attractive football as well. Also, while I think there's issues with the squad and the malaise which was present when he took over, the squad isn't that bad. Not one of the worst 3 or 4 in the league anyway.
