Funny how shit never seems to stick though. Milliband was fucking castigated for his 'Father who hated Britain' or whatever in Mail (even though the journalist's father was a fucking theatre correspondent or something like when Milliband's dad was fighting during WW2). Imagine if this was Corbin's brother, for example.

Aye, good point.

Aye, it'll be based purely on social media. Then the bit about scoring highly for his insight is just to sound good and that's purely subjective anyway.

He'll be on about £20k, if that. That's how.

I would imagine he scores highly for offering people out on Twitter.

I looked at the start of it. They go on about: Lee’s insightful, finger-on-the pulse reporting on all things Newcastle United. As an example they've got a twitter feed where he says: As some fans protest about ticket prices #nufc slash season ticket deals for future generations of supporters Aye, how fucking insightful. Trooper posted this http://www.themag.co...ices-must-read/ article from the Mag the other day. Which, despite its brevity, gives a far greater analysis of the reasons behind the ticket pricing at SJP and gives the lie to the notion Ashley is being benevolent (or that the tickets are, on average particularly cheap). I know it's only a tweet, so the comparison is unfair but Ryder wouldn't have the 'insight' or the balls to write a piece like that one in the Mag.

I think the main person who writes the NUFC stuff for The Chronicle is one of the most influential by default. Doesn't mean they're any good though

Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)

Good rep as a coach without a doubt. Apples and Oranges though -

Despite him saying he'd always liked him on his howaythetoon board just after he was appointed. He then went on to continually blame Gemmill for the appointment whilst exonerating the club hierarchy -

I would like to see him do well obviously, I just don't get the optimism. I would say Gloom's assessment of his CV is generous. He's had 7 jobs including this one post-England. You could only say he's done well in one of them. Basically sums up the club hierarchy that we even went after him. -

Souness, at a guess -
Some are stronger, some are milder. Just the variety I think

As for the right tools, I read somewhere we spent more than the entire Bundesliga in the last window -

Nah, that argument holds little water. Plenty clubs have changed manager loads more than us and had more success in recent years. Also, this is the first year in decades the league has been this unpredictable whereas managerial changes are hardly a new thing so there's no correlation there. The extra TV money making for a more level playing field seems like a much more probable explanation. As Ewerk alludes to, stability for the sake of it is more likely to by a sign of a lack of ambition and a club stagnating, especially if no tangible benefit appears. Whatever you think of Pardew I don't think you could argue it didn't go stale well before he left (arguably, probably undeniably, other factors were at play too i concede). Not saying give the manager the bullet now because I think that could easily make things worse, especially given the nuggets in charge, but McClaren has a canny poor track record imo and he's done fuck all to enhance his rep since coming here. -
Class, even if it's made up

Pardew was the 2nd longest serving manager in the division when he left. -
The thick fucker was probably texting her

Ewerk has it spot on imo

Think different rules apply when it's all played out in the public domain like this. They'd have known (or wanted to know) what the crack was as soon as the allegations arose. Obviously the legal advice he's been given (which he's clearly acting upon) would've been more recent but probably a while back. I suppose the club were in a difficult position once they'd stood by him. They didn't have to keep playing him though.
