He was better known for his attacking play though
  2. How does all this impact on Bree Olson's career?
  3. Didn't know it was still going. Dreadful publication.
  4. Think it was someone on N-O a good while back who got offended and reckoned that I must be gay because I said it was a homoerotic scene.
  5. It's more like saying they aren't representative, which is true.
  6. Aye, exactly. I wasn't having a pop. Who wouldn't leave under the circumstances. It's basically the only way we can attract the likes of Wijnaldum anyway, i.e. by saying it's a chance to move to a bigger, better club.
  7. Yes. Is this a quiz now?
  8. Living your life by 7th century Arabian values is fucking ridiculous though
  9. They all left for significantly higher wages irrespective of their other motives.
  10. He was a cop and good at his job....
  11. Who are we to tell a religion that tells people what to wear what to wear?
  12. If only they would just blow themselves up
  13. Parky loves the Muzzies because they hate the Jews too. Purile but he started it.
  14. I think that's a small part of it but it ignores the fact that women under Taliban rule had to wear the burqa. I think it's a method for oppressing women and it's a cultural thing (a bit like FGM if you like) as much as (if not more) than it's a Muslim thing. That's my issue with it. I said on this subject ages ago that I'd feel uncomfortable with legislation saying what people can and can't wear in the UK. Equally so if the wearing of veils became the norm here. How you address that is a difficult one, obviously.
  15. Is that why they try to cover it up then? Because they think they're doing God's work? Howay, man
  16. For that argument to have any validity it would require people who are against the veil to not have a problem with paedo priests. That clearly isn't the case. Equally the argument about being Christened is fallacious given, except in very rare circumstances, the person being Christened has no choice in the matter. Marriage is a legal concept in any case but I doubt the majority of people who have a wedding service in a church are religious anyway. And when they are doing that I would guess it's almost always what the bride wants so it's not analogous with the wearing of a veil beyond the argument that both might be considered to be cultural norms
  17. If you're getting it for her I assume you're going to wear it.
  18. Bet you'd have a problem if it was, for example, a little closer to home.
