He hasn’t got an ounce of self awareness and he never did have. I’d have been amazed if Dougle was him because Stevie always outted himself in 5 minutes. He was funny and knowledgeable but he always brushed up against a lot of people on here because his small minded bigotry got called out. He couldn’t really take so everyone was a posh/soft/stuck up cunt or whatever. I’ll be 100% honest and I’m friends with people in real life like that. Stuff doesn’t normally come up in conversation because I will call it out. That sort of patter on social media in general though? Fucking hell that show me how that’s racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. It’s so fucking childish needy and basically seeking the wrong kind of attention. A bit like a tired child

I’m not racist, but…. that’s 100% him

I saw a few comments along those lines. I’m not sure what the problem was really. I can’t say I’m a connoisseur of Sunday afternoon tv on bbc1 but what exactly was it replacing that got people so wound up? The Antiques Roadshow and Songs of Praise?

Midfield cover that’s top quality too. Either experienced and slightly in the way down or in that potentially top class bracket but young. Possibly both. But aye, not that far away but we aren’t getting all those this window

The Jimmy Savile patter is exactly what Johnson did to Starmer as well. Is that the best they can do? Plus they’re going to war on a bit of legislation brought in by the previous government. I’m not sure why they didn’t just point that out but say they have no plans to repeal it at this point. Citing more important concerns in the short term but saying any legislation is constantly under review or something. They’re unbelievably bad from a PR perspective before you even get into anything else. And they let Farage drag them into battles at each turn but, not only that, fight them on Farage’s terms. Look at the small boats thing and trying to outdo Reform. You could shut that down by asking him how many crossings there were before Brexit? And pointing out ending the reciprocal arrangement with France created a lucrative route for people smuggling. I hope Starmer is forced out tbh because he’s just ushering in our version of Trump at the moment

I think he was taking the piss like

I think Stevie was active on Twitter but no idea if he still is as I never have been and don’t even have an account now. I hope he’s alright anyway. There was a piece a canny while back (pre-COVID) in, I think, the Shields Gazzette, saying the op had been a complete success. Obviously you’re always at the risk of it coming back with something like that.

I think at this point the ideal scenario would see us getting Wissa and Sesko with Isak going to PSG for £150m. But Liverpool will probably get him in the summer or January after Ekitike leaves on loan with an option to buy after not quite being up to the job
-
Not Stevie. Unless he’s mellowed a fair bit
-
Slight injury

Liverpool will leave their bid, should it happen, to very late in the transfer window.
-
Double starting early as he means to go on

I don’t really follow F1 these days but from when I did the Spa circuit seemed to cut right through the Ardennes Forest as well.

I doubt it. From the reports it seems to be BAU in South Korea
-
I had a look and because of where it happened it’s predicted to have a minimal impact on South Korea with tsunami waves of less than half a metre / no damaging impact. They’d have known by now too as the effects have been felt as far away as Hawaii

No, I totally agree. I just think that’s part of why it’s so difficult. Having a well oiled professional recruitment setup is, in those circumstances, absolutely essential. It’s also not easy to get to that point from where we were previously as a club. As we’ve seen before, the bigger clubs have even tried to scupper our attempts on that front (see Ashworth - whatever one thinks of his character or actual ability). I do think we’ve fucked up with appointments etc. but building from scratch is a nightmare job. Ironically we’ve progressed too quickly on the field. The other thing is when you go fishing in that other pond, ie younger talent with more potential but a lack of PL experience then your are taking a greater risk. But a greater risk coupled with their club, agent and the player wanting more money than they would have before we were a club who has got into the Champions League twice recently
-
Then you have agents using our status as a way of generating interest and getting better moves / contracts for their clients. Apart from agents by and large being unscrupulous, they make money out of moves and new contracts as opposed to stability. Whether it’s the best thing for the player is probably rather immaterial beyond them getting more money. I’d also ask - is there an example of a club doing what (for example) Brighton has been so good at and getting into the CL on a consistent basis? We’re also in a fairly unusual situation, where we aren’t part of the ‘established elite’ but have ambitious owners who are hamstrung by PSR. We’re able to offer CL football and are now consistently challenging for honours but can’t offer the sort of wages that the ‘big 6’ can. Which makes it hard to find that sweet spot in terms of the players we can go for. I.e. happy to come here and improve the squad (first XI especially). Obviously the less than ideal situation with the hierarchy (or lack of) makes this even worse in the short term

I’m not sure. It’s not like I properly bother to read most posts on here
