I think there are some mitigating factors which mean a lot of what’s happened isn’t all the fault of what’s happening behind the scenes at the club. But you would have to start asking serious questions if a player who clearly wants to come here ends up going to a Saudi club instead.

No chance imo.

Who exactly do you think you’re fooling at this point?

Kevin Phillips was never the highest scoring top flight striker in Europe. That’s one for Howey -
Is anyone saying it’s the sole reason? Because that would be as stupid as arguing it’s not a major factor

Exactly what I thought when the Garnacho transfer was first mooted.

I’d rather they won it ten years in a row then any of Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal

Durham mag scum

I think he’s going there for higher wages tbh. Same with pretty much all the other failed signings. That’s how fixed it all is.
-
Was it him or another NUFC ‘ITK’ that was running a competition where the ‘lucky winners’ would be unblocked by them on Twitter?

Feels like that chant would be taking something away from the legacy Xisco left behind

Aye. Actually the end of the runway isn’t even two miles away. The dopey so and so

There was a kid called Brian at school who was thick as a plank who used to call occasionally. Or probably quite often as I only listened now and again when I was trying to drop off. I remember one occasion when he claimed to have seen unusually lights in the sky. Robson asked him where he lived and Brian replied ‘Seaton Burn’. When Robson pointed out that was about two miles from the airport it was met with completely unironic stunned silence. Another time he was going on about trying to give up the tabs. When Robson asked him how much he spent on cigarettes a week he said ‘Nowt, I just pinch me Nana’s’. Again this was not even meant to be funny

I went to Sidari in 96 iirc. Renton must’ve frightened away all the dogs
-
He retired or was ‘moved on’ a while back. Probably no one listens to that sort of thing anymore in the internet age.

He was. Tbf, he had a great face for radio

It wasn’t even Garnacho either so there wasn’t even an obvious link

There’s got to be a beef dripping joke in there somewhere

We stayed there. Proper charvas in the wild but it’s easy enough to avoid the obviously horrific bars and there’s some nice restaurants. Went whale watching too and the island itself is pretty amazing in terms of scenery etc. Nice quiet hotel with a good mix of nationalities as well, which helped Some absolute fucking states knocking about the resort though, like you say. Families of five or so going round in double seater mobility scooters they’ve hired for the duration

I think England threw it away but India and Siraj in particular deserved it, if that makes sense. The wickets England chucked away were daft and wtf was Smith doing? He can see it’s swinging and gets away with two play and misses so thinks “I better do that again”. Tbh, the hubris from England is still there and the Bazball with brains stuff would’ve been rolled out if they’d managed the series win. As an aside, Bethell batting at 6 in a test match was a fucking mental selection. And I thought that before the game too. One first class game this season before the test. Averages in the mid 20s in red ball cricket and that’s skewed by a 96 v the kiwis (his highest first class score), only 21, no FC 100s and only a handful of 50s. On top of being absolutely nowhere near being a competent bowler at this level. Unbelievable arrogance even picking him in that role in such a crucial match and he contributed virtually nothing

I think he played well at Villa sitting in behind Grealish that year he got supporters’ player of the season or whatever at Villa. He’s a steady of somewhat limited LB. I think he essentially needs first team football at this stage of his career and he’s about 4th choice LB and that’s about the only position you could see him playing

Someone started a thread on there about Chelsea signing another player yesterday (I think) and the first reply to the OP was about NUFC
