  1. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-45735591 Aye, totally unrepresentative. The fucking state of them as well.
  2. Well, I don't go to the games any more (or rather very rarely) and Ashley is one of the main reasons but other people clearly feel differently. I would personally advocate people who still want to go no longer buying season tickets so he didn't get all that money up front. I know the TV dwarfs the money off tickets now but it's still a substantial amount of income, especially since even as well-run clubs or ones like us where the owner spends as little as possible struggle to barely break even. Moot anyway as it's not going to happen. Also, as I think I've said on here before that people like to make a virtue out of not going and others make a virtue out of going but in essence it often boils down to those that still go still enjoy it (on balance) and those that have stopped don't.
  3. A quick look on social media and you'll find no end of knackers who blame the manager. Although lots of people actually like going to the games still in any case. It's a social thing as much as anything
  4. Amusing to see CT's blood pressure palpably rise with each post. Also good to see him in one of his textbook Catch-22 situations whereby if he actually believes that about May's 'performance' then he's a moron but if he's posting it just to get a rise thinking it'll wind people up then ditto
  5. Less convincing than the pre-fight McGregor/Mayweather bollocks. Which is saying something
  6. The supporters at that rally, man.
  7. I'd rather you kept that sort of thing to yourself
  8. Lascelles was the only one we could think of when we were talking about it who would command a large fee.
  9. Think most, if not all of the other PL clubs, have a higher record fee and not only that but they've broken that record in recent years (generally the last 2 or 3 seasons ago at the most iirc). Ours is still Michael Owen from 13 years ago.
  10. Still not progressed beyond level 1 on her how to be a human course
  11. That's one thing I was talking about with my mate the other day in relation to the (presumably) unrealistic asking price Ashley wants. As far as assets go, our playing squad must have one of the lowest values in the league.
  12. His bold predictions always turn out to be right though. Whether that's in the sphere of politics or sport.

    Kevin Keegan

Yeah. Great atmosphere and some canny anecdotes. Nothing exactly earth-shattering but he was on good form and the affection he has for the region, city and club is still very apparent.
  14. I think Sky payed a bit less but the overall deal went up due to the likes of Amazon getting in on the act.
  15. Agree about the TV rights too. Even if the bubble doesn't burst, so to speak, there aren't exactly new markets to be exploited as the PL has surely reached saturation levels. The only places where it possibly hasn't are those where they prefer their own domestic leagues and that is unlikely change in any case.
  16. You might already be aware of this but Fury got an absolute joke of a decision early in his career John McDermott. On that occasion I think Fury did just rock up with not much in the way of serious training. There were no judges and the ref gave the up and coming Fury the decision by 8 rounds to 2 but the correct result was probably the other way round. Fury looked absolutely fucking knackered by the end as well as looking even more out of shape than usual. As for his patter, I agree. Before the Klitchsko fight I'd seen a few interviews with him on youtube and he would just be taking the piss and could be genuinely funny but now it's all a bit scripted whereby he's on his best behaviour or, alternatively, just trying to be controversial for the sake of it.
