Yup, I'm convinced it's all in the mind. Some nights I drop off no problems. Other nights I just feel restless for no obvious reason and can't relax or get comfortable. And as soon as those thoughts about not getting a good night's sleep enter the mind, it makes it even harder to unwind enough to drop off.

Had a fun weekend playing in the snow with Gloom Jnr but as always, the transport system in London fails to cope with a couple of inches of snow. Currently on a bus after all trains cancelled into town out of my local station. We're supposed to be a major financial and cultural centre and we can't cope with a light dusting, year after year, despite all the usual warnings. Can't even be blamed on austerity Britain as it's been like this for years. Pathetic really

I was there in the early days of philip craig's toon chat board, posting as Dan. It was linked from the top of Nufc.com for a while and was the first toon forum I found, probably around 2000/2001. Regular posters from those days were Blaydon, a deranged Aussie teenager, Li3nz, a racist from Pont, and Bluestar, a namby pamby do gooder. Iirc, that board merged with HTT, which I never posted on, to form NO around 2003. Then this place spun out from that about 2005 when it became obvious NO was full of tits.

That doesn't mean Pardew hasn't been shit this season - he has. But he wasn't supported in the transfer market like he should have been after finishing 5th with one if the smallest squads in terms of quality in the league.

I think for me it's mainly psychological. Most days I drop off fine. Other times I'll get into bed and just can't relax, can't get comfortable. Then I start worrying about being knackered the next day the longer I can't sleep. And the more the mind races, the harder it is to relax. I wish it would fuck off. Especially annoying as the wife drops off the second her head hits the pillow.

Pretty much sums up how I feel. A new manager might keep us up, or Pardew might turn it around against the odds. Either way, last season was an anomaly. Mid table is about as good as its going to get as long as Ashley maintains the revolving door transfer policy. For every season like last season where we over achieve there's likely to be one like this where we find ourselves in the shit. The unpredictability is a symptom of the owners approach

Saw Django at the cinema yesterday. An enjoyable return to form by QT, if a bit self indulgent with the gore and overly long. The best scenes as always, were the long scenes of dialogue designed to build the tension. The exchange between De Caprio and Waltz for instance, or Waltz talking his way out of being shot a couple of times. Some great performances but Samuel L Jackson stole it for me as the Uncle Tom.

I get random bouts of it. It's a fucking nightmare. It was gone 5 by the time I dropped off last night.

I feel a bit for Pardew but things are looking desperate for him. Results say he's got to go. You can't be losing to this lot at home when you're on this kind of run. This should have been a home banker

They're both to blame really. The owner for not giving the manager anything to work with, the manager for being too negative and the players for being gutless. They can all fuck off.

It's a results business at the end of the day. You can't be losing to reading at home. The run we've been on is shocking. Shame for but I think he'll take the fall. Owners fault at the end of the day. Options off he bench not good enough.

Argo. Canny but bit Hollywood at the end. It was an interesting film based on a true story but there's NO way it unfolded like it did in the film with the fucking copper car chasing the plane down the runway. Still, an enjoyable watch 7/10
