good point. it's actually often cheaper for most poor families to buy takeaway junk food than it is to puchase the stuff needed to make a proper healthy home cooked meal. and it's easier to let your kids sit on their arses all day in front of the tv or playstation than it is to persuade them to get outside and exercise. i'm fucked if i'm letting my boy turn out like that mind. he's going to be down the park every saturday kicking the ball around whether he likes it or not.

that's the big problem in a nutshell. then there's the issue of english players not trying their hand abroad. it's a shame more players don't go out to spain, germany or italy for first team football. it rarely seems to work out for british players. they always seem to struggle more with the language and the foreign much food. i'll never forget ian rush remarking about his miserable time at juventus - "it was like living in a foreign country"
