  1. he's been belter this season and should arguably have started more games given his form. at this stage of his career he might not want to be third choice.
  2. We've got all the momentum plus the least pressure on us compared to those around us. And we're winning games when we don't play that well. I was watching the chat on here earlier during the game almost expecting us to score even though it sounded like we were playing crap. Can't remember the last time I had this confidence in the team.
  3. Bollocks man, we're supporters. Got to dream and hope. The players arent reading this forum going, "oooh the fans aren't being fair" ffs. I don't expect us to finish 4th - no one does. But we're in with a shout with 5 games left. That doesn't happen often for us. It's hard not to get excited.
  4. This is the season that keeps giving. Unbelievable! Long may the pundits continue to write us off. Takes the pressure off innit. When was the last time we won 5 on the spin in the top flight btw ?
  5. To be fair, there is the Ba problem now. (don't start, Gemmill) I reckon he's more than likely to be off in the summer anyway tbh. Just gotta crack on and get someone in. I'd be gutted me self if we sold ba like. He's just having a sticky patch.
  6. Fucking hell man we won't get a better chance than this to close the gap
  7. See. This is what happens when we let CT start a match thread
  8. Exactly the sort of game we mess up - the dreaded home banker!
  9. ryan taylor, over the wall. a player that no one rated kick starting our season with a couple of wonder strikes, getting his own song in his honour and setting the tone for the early stage unbeaten run. shola, the mackem destroyer, striking again. dispatching man u and liverpool with ease at home.
  10. not a big fan of her music but she's got a good voice and her tunes are catchy enough. there's far worse mainstream pap out there
  11. air pistols, pinball machines.... it's all go innit
  12. i thought it was canny crap compared to the book, but then that's not unusual
  13. I agree with Ron Manager, here. We need no more injuries if we can help it and let the lads just keep plugging away in every game. You can lose or draw a game just as easy against a Bolton or Stoke as you can win one. Lets just back the players and see where we get. Win our games and Europe takes care of itself, and for once, the pressure might just get to other three London sides around us, certainly if we keep winning it will. As for worrying about points lost, nobody was worrying about nicking three points away at Wolves or winning tight games against Everton and the Mackems at the Stade de Shite. The players seem to be just getting on with it, there's nowhere near the tension we've had in the past when we've been chasing a title or Europe. the fact that no one deep down really expects us to finish top 4 should play into the players' hands. there's no big pressure on the becaus we've already overachieved. loads more pressure on the london clubs because they're all expected to finish top 4. the chelsea game could be massive!
  14. deano looking like a soothsayer now like. i'm not sure even he expected us to be chasing the top 4 though did he?
  15. Went with warriror. Meh. 5/10 And watch it gemmill. Tin tin has got about 80% on rotten tomatoes. Supposed to be like raiders of the list arc
  16. His vision was to bring in better players on smaller wages, I don't really see how that wasn't an achievable vision for the club. Replacing Hughton with Pardew was a risk, as was selling Carroll last day of the window without a replacement but that's their job to make decisions like that. to gamble in other words, exactly my point. the gamble has worked. this season. i wouldn't want him gambling with the playing staff like he did in the last 18 months every season.
  17. Your wrong but its not worth going back and forth over. I would just say your outlook has been consistently gloomy for the last two years while myself and others have pointed out how positive it actually looked. Its time you started believing rather than always putting it off til next year aka Leazes Mag. i'm not wrong. credit where it's due - the coaching staff and the players have surpassed all expectations. they've worked miracles. not even the most optimistic on here predicted us to have the season we're having. i'm not prepared to give ashley much credit yet though. so far the success has been achieved despite his actions rather than because of them. i'll be the first to admit i'm wrong if this season lays the foundations for future success. unlike last summer, i'd like to see us hang on to the core of players that have done so well this season and add to the squad. ashley doing that will go a long way to changing my mind that it wasn't a fluke and that he's serious about the club's future success.
  18. it's not a grand vision man, it's taking a chance while doing it on the cheap. albeit with some unbelievable results. if the same policy works for another season or two i might come around to your way of thinking. until then, i'm putting it down to luck. and the man is undisputedly still a cunt.
  19. even if we lose all our games left, it'll still have been a remarkable season
