  1. Moved down here 12 years ago. Always thought I'd return home. Never did and can't see myself leaving now. This city has everything you could possibly want, bar sunshine. Honestly, if London had the climate of Barcelona I'd say it would be a contender for best city on the planet.
  2. Sums up how I feel. I still can't help but think there better owners out there. But you can't argue that his strategy has worked wonders this season, so what do I know? I don't really give a shit how much money is spent and who is sold as long as it produces performances on the pitch - and this current team is the one to feel most proud of in over a decade. The question now is whether Ashley will be tempted to cash in on his chips while things are looking good for next season. Or will this season's success remotivate him - will we hang on to the key players unless a silly Carroll-esque bid comes in again? Or will he try to rebuild the squad again, selling key senior players along the way? I'll be happy if it's either of the first two options.
  3. it's still debatable what the uefa doctrine will mean in reality, how it will be enforced and whether oil rich foreign owners will find ways to sidestep the rules.
  4. Finishing 4th and not getting into Europe because of Chelsea would just be too cruel.
  5. if we keep playing like we have been, we've as good a chance as any of the teams around us of finishing in the top 4. can we really keep it up though? particularly against city and chelsea, two big sides that should have lots still to play for. i'm beginning to believe but I won't be too down if we don't make the top 4 it's still been a mint season whatever happens. it'll hard not to be disappointed though if we do fall short. it's not every season you get this close.
  6. I'll continue going to my usual half a dozen games a season. Representing the OOT massive.
  7. Dempsey more of an advanced midfielder than deep lying I think, he'd be a quality addition to the squad but I imagine he wouldn't come cheap. I'm loving jonas in his current role. He's got the engine and work rate to chase and harry plus a bit of quality on the ball too. Him and tiote are looking a real modern pair of holding midfilders that can do more than just break up play. Our formation really is looking like a 4231 all of a sudden. Loving it.
  8. Seems well hard this StevenL kid. I wouldn't mess with him
  9. He never even wanted to come in the first place - he admitted as such when he signed. Then he played with no heart. Didn't give a shit did he tbh. He was more concerned with compiling that dossier. Will he even get a winners medal if Man U win the title? Hope not, the useless cunt. Nice to see how England's Michael Owen's international career has gone too.
  10. Post a pic with you holding a not Paul Wynn paper or it's all fake.
  11. are you thinking about flying over from norway to do this? not sure childish is the right adjective tbh.
  12. Obviously I'm enjoying this season. I'm not worried about next year, just wondering if the impressive January window will be the sign of things to come in the summer. If so, we'll be in good shape.
  13. And that's what it boils down to - adding to the squad that has performed so well. Keeping this group of players together. I'd hate to see the same transfer strategy we employed again last summer - selling 4 senior players worked this year but I'd hate to think the team is going to be rebuilt in that manner every summer. You can't get it that right every year.
  14. Everything this year has gone according to plan. A plan most of us thought would see us finish upper mid table at best. If the same plan works again next year, it'll be difficult to argue this season was a flash in the pan.
  15. Aye that's what I meant. Credit to all concerned for the success this season.
  16. I mean if it's a one off season. If we sink back to lower mid table the next few years.
  17. Well I never thought the success of the team on the pitch was a priority for him. I felt his main concern was turning his expensive investment into a saleable asset. Plus he seemed in contempt of the supporters. I'll never forgive him for renaming the stadium. Because of that I wanted him out. Now, for the first time since the Keegan debacle, I'm not sure. I'm still certain there must be a better owner out there. But I'm interested to see if he continues to build the team. The foundations are there now. The key question for me is whether we see another window in the summer like we did in January. If he does still have an eye on the exit, he won't get a better price than this summer if we do finish 4th.
  18. Me too. The form book says we're favourites but the cynic in me is doomed to disappointment. Either way, I'm not going to get too down. What an amazing season. Whether its 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. Unbelievable stuff. The big question is whether we can challenge the top 4 again next time around. Or if this is a fluke season.
  19. Do you think Ashley will sell the club? And more importantly would you now want him to? I've felt for a while Ashley has been focusing only on his exit strategy - his main aim has been to cut costs and make the club as attractive an investment as possible to give him the biggest return possible when he does finally sell. Up until now, no one has come in. He overpaid and we didn't look an attractive proposition at the price the owner would want. But surely now, if we do qualify for the CL, with one of the best wage/turnover ratios and reduced debt, that might not be the case. But does Ashley still want to sell up? Has this season reignited his passion for the club? And will we see more transfer windows like the last one where we report a net spend instead of a net profit on player sales? Has our unexpected success this season changed your view? Would you like to see how things pan out under the existing owner or is a takeover still the preferred option?
  20. Tastes so sweet this humble pie like. I'll have it for breakfast, dinner and tea if we finish in the top 4
  21. Surreal is the right word. I keep finding myself day dreaming about the champions league. When you look at the league and the recent form, we're favourites for 4th. Unbelievable
  22. Tarabt sent off. 10 minutes to go. Hold on you Rs!
  23. I thought we'd struggle too. No one saw this season coming tbf
