  1. WOD is definitely worth watching if you have it but I would definitely recomend Paris Texas if you've not seen that yet. Quite possibly the best film I've seen this year. now paris texas is an absolute belter. one of the most visually beautiful films i've ever seen and an amazing soundtrack from ry cooder.
  2. i guess you're right about the rugger buggers but i still think towns like leeds and newcastle have a small town mentality - you get clowns who go out on a friday to pull and if they don't manage it then kicking off with some random is the next best thing. you don't get that in london, at least not in my experience. you only find these sort of radges in the outskirts of london - places like croydon for example. from my experience of boozing in different places down the years, i'm far less likely to have some pissed up radge start a fight with me over nothing in london than i am in towns like newcastle, sheffield, leeds, nottingham, bristol etc. no one has ever picked a fight with me in a london bar. people go on about how dangerous places like brixton and hackney are but it's only the gangs shooting each other. the chances of someone kicking off in a bar are slim.
  3. not sure about that make though people. i bought a "red" portable dvd player a few years ago for £70 from tesco instead of spending the extra £100 on a quality brand and it promptly packed in. never again....only the likes of sony/panasonic/pinoneer for me now when it comes to tvs etc
  4. This happened in Leeds btw and London is hardly devoid of violent crime. the majority of violent crime in london is largely gangs shooting each other over drugs. or chavs beating each other up in places like croydon and stratford....again small town mentality. the same goes for leeds imo. i got started on minding my own business by hyde park when i was a student.
  5. move to london is my advice. i haven't come close to any trouble in the 8 years i've lived here and yet the last time i was out on the lash back home someone tried kicking off with me. small town mentality tbh

    Alright lads

    welcome to our clique
  7. a classic. got to love the expressions bob hoskins pulls in the final scene when he's sat in the the back of the car knowing he's going to get whacked.
  8. i loved it. a real head fuck, like most of gilliam's efforts.
  9. no doubt we'll be on the receiving end of a backlash
  10. why don't you Dave ? This is my only login on here. Well, why don't you log in as Dave as well, it is allowed like. It's not as if you've got to put your hand up and ask or owt. leazesmag. how the hell are you? ah, long lost buddie Fine, Dan. [at least I think you were Dan], as I remember you from the old howaythetoon as Dr Gloom. How are you ? good. what happened to you? this place has been a little dull in your absence. nowhere near enough 15+page threads about freddie shepherd

  12. from the kings road to blyth. must have been a bit of a culture shock
  13. not exactly a vote of confidence from the dotcom boys, and they tend to capture the mood pretty well
  14. at least he's good for something
  15. Thought this was going to be about Duff. who?
  16. i was one of the few on this board that backed robson when shepherd was making a fool of himself with the bambi comments. we'd finished 5th, which was disappointing compared with previous seasons but it was still a relative success. you just have to look where we are now to see that. imagine being so pissed off that we booed the lap of honour because we just missed out on the 4th champions league spot. we'll do well to finish in the top half this year...
  17. if this board is any true relection of general mood among our support i'd say those that wanted robson to stay were in the minority.
  18. bollocks. bobby could and should have been allowed to continue the very good job he did for us. so we finished 5th instead of 4th and had a nightmare in the champions league, but the man turned us from midtable nobodies into a fucking good team. we can only dream of sacking a manager after finishing 5th now. shepherd sacking him, especially in the manner that he did, was a disgrace after the way robson tunred us around. and we've paid the price for his fuck up the last few years. robson didn't deserve to go out the way he did. he was a victim of his own success. he raised expectation levels and paid the price. no way he should have been sacked though.
  19. agree. we never should have sacked robson. that's when the rot started.
  20. i can't see anything but a convincing home win after saturday's no-show
