  1. The only way it will work is if Rafa is directly answerable to Ashley. If he has to go through Charnley it won't work
  2. Newcastle United midfielders Andros Townsend and Georginio Wijnaldum have been linked with summer moves to West Ham United, according to reports. The pair both joined the Magpies last season – Wijnaldum in the summer, Townsend in the winter – but both could leave after the club were relegated from the Premier League before the final day of the season. Townsend has been in fine form since joining Newcastle from Spurs, form that has seen him called up to Roy Hodgson’s provisional Euro 2016 squad, while Wijnaldum was the Magpies’ top goalscorer with 11 (all at St James’ Park). Former Tottenham man Townsend is believed to have £8m release clause in his contract and The Guardiansay both he and Wijnaldum are being targeted by the Hammers.
  3. "I’d still be very surprised if he was to be Newcastle manager. I’m sure he’ll have many offers. And I’m sure he’ll have many questions that he wants to ask the owner, and many assurances that he’ll want to ask - including about whether he will be allowed to manage the [whole] football club. He’ll want all that down in black and white. I hope he stays but I’d be surprised" - Alan Shearer
  4. The 3 C's have to go they will serve no purpose if Rafa's going to be allowed to rebuild the club. ALL deadwood must go as brutal as that sounds from the top to the bottom. If you want Concur & Beardsley involved let them do the meet & greet on match days or something
  5. If Rafa takes control surely "The 3 C's" (Charnley, Carr & Concur) will have no use.
  6. If Ashley leaves it to Penfold to finalise things one of the things Rafa might want rid of is Penfold himself Penfold "Run that past me again Mr Benitez your highness, you want rid of Concur, Carr & me not a problem I'll get right on it"
  7. I can't see Rafa's wages etc being a problem it's wether he can trust Ashley that's why his heart is saying yes but he's obviously got this doubt in his mind. Maybe's Keegan's been in touch with Rafa & warned him who knows ?
  8. He left Liverpool in the end because he said the directors knew nothing about football does that sound familiar?
  9. They said "the titanic would never sink" this needs looking at.
  10. Well done Phish marra topper posts proper lads fan I'd like to award you "twat of the week" & put you forward for "cunt of the month". Now be a good lad & fuck off to cheesy chip & blue pop land.
  11. MIKE ASHLEY faces the prospect of being forced to loosen his grip on Rangers in the wake of Newcastles relegation from the Premier League. The Toon will play Championship football next term after rivals Sunderland condemned them to the drop on Wednesday evening. But United could find themselves kicked out of the Football League if chiefs launch a probe into his array of arrangements with Rangers and decide that they breach their stringent rules on dual interests regarding the ownership of shares and the off-field influence individuals can have on more than one club. Ashley owns an 8.92% stake at Ibrox and controls Rangers merchandise operation through his Sports Direct empire, and his involvement with the Gers has now come under the microscope. Without written consent of the Football League board, an individual cannot hold an interest in another club and Regulation 99 states: A person shall be deemed to be interested in a football club if he, whether directly or indirectly: holds or deals in (or has made any application to hold or deal in or underwrite any issue of) the securities or shares of that football club; or is a member of that football club; or is involved in any capacity whatsoever in the management or administration of that football club; or has any power whatsoever to influence the financial, commercial or business affairs or the management or administration of that football club; or has lent to, gifted money to, or purchased future receivables from or guaranteed the debts or obligations of that football club (or any other arrangement of substantially similar effect) otherwise than in the ordinary course of banking." If the billionaire is found to have broken the dual interest regulations, the Football League board will order him to take such action as is necessary to rectify the breach forthwith or within such period as the Board shall determine. And the consequences could be severe for Newcastle if the FL are not satisfied that there is no breach of their rulebook, with rule 105.3 stating: Without prejudice to the range of other sanctions that may be imposed in respect of such breach, any Club in breach of any of the aforesaid Regulations may with the sanction of a special resolution passed at an Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting of The League, be expelled from The League. There shall be no right of appeal against such expulsion. This is from The Scottish Sunday Herald I'm surprised the national press & the ronny haven't run this this could turn out to be bigger than relegation don't forget he's got dealings with Oldham Athletic as well.
  12. This is what worries me about the negotiations with Rafa the fact that Charnley's doing them.
  13. Yeah certainly no indication either way wether he'll stay or go.
  14. When asked about the Everton job, Benitez said: “I have seen the news but I have not talked with anyone. “So at the moment my priority is Tottenham tomorrow and after the meetings I will have. “Hopefully everything will be fine and we see what happens. “But if not, we will see what happens. In football you never know.” Benitez was also asked if Newcastle can bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt. He said: “If I am in charge I hope yes. But if I am not in charge I wish them all the best. “It is a massive club so we have to wait and see how the conversations go on, then after hopefully they will be with me.”

  16. Alan Shearer on the relegation. I AM devastated, hurt and angry that my club has been relegated again. Memories come flooding back from 2009 and it is painful. I am not looking forward to a season of Championship football and I really feel for the staff who are going to lose their jobs. But there is no getting away from the fact that this has been on the cards for a long time now. Lessons have not been learned from 2009, the same mistakes have been made and the club has got what it deserves. It is like groundhog day. I watched Sunderland’s 3-0 win over Everton on Wednesday night in a pub with some pals, all of us Newcastle fans. Some of them didn’t renew their season tickets last year and I’d be surprised if the others do now. Last time Newcastle went down their average attendance was still huge. But I suspect that might be different this time around because the people at the top of the club are just not learning. Under Mike Ashley, Newcastle’s sole intention has been simply to stay in the Premier League and make money. It hasn’t been to win a trophy or get to Wembley — it has just been about avoiding relegation. So it is ironic that when the big money comes in next season, Newcastle are not going to be there. People at the club need to take a long hard look in the mirror and big decisions need to be made. Everyone has questions to answer, starting with the owner. Before Newcastle’s final-day clash with West Ham last season, Ashley was asked where the responsibility lay for the club’s problems and he replied “my door”. But he has continued to take a back seat and has instead allowed people to run his football club and make huge, huge errors. Managing director Lee Charnley has been the man in charge of the club’s managerial appointments. They include last summer’s hiring of Steve McClaren, which did not work at all. He compounded that mistake by only making a change with ten games to go. Then you have chief scout Graham Carr who has overseen recruitment and that has been terrible. Let’s not forget the players. They have not taken responsibility for themselves. The one thing you have to do in the Championship is to fight and scrap. So clearly this team has to be ripped up because they do not currently have the characters to do that. I hope St James’ Park is only going to see Championship football for one season and one season only, like last time they went down, although I can’t confidently predict that will be the case. It would be brilliant if Rafa Benitez stayed and tried to get Newcastle back up. But like I have previously said, I would be amazed if he does because he will have offers from all around the world, including the Premier League. If Newcastle can’t persuade him, they must get a manager in quickly to start the rebuilding process. And they have to allow him to manage and let him to bring his own players in — not players that are under 26, that they then try to sell on to make a few quid. I am sure Sam Allardyce will have had a little smile to himself that this has turned out how it has. It is incredible when you think that Newcastle have now gone down twice since they sacked him in 2008. I know Sam and he has done a fantastic job at Sunderland. As much as it pains me to say it, you have to say well done to him and the club. They made the decision to make a change when it needed to be made. If only Newcastle had done the same.

  22. So it looks like Janmaat's going to be one of the first away apparently there's interest from Napoli & Inter Milan. But his agent is said to be in advanced talks with Juventus. According to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daryl-janmaat/profil/spieler/60744 he has a valuation of £5.63 million who's next ?
  23. You see this is were Ashley has played a blinder "we are were I expect us to be " " Ashley has brought a feeling of meh" other comments I've read "we go for the craic" "it gets me away from the missus" "we've always gone". This is why he can get away with virtually anything at NUFC. Not one comment says we go to watch the football. It's what SJP is famous for the home of NUFC & now we've been relegated again for the 2nd time since Ashley took over & it's "well it's expected" really ? You spend £100s a year & I doesn't bother you the teams relegated I find that really strange
