Army to provide support in UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has announced a new military force ready to support public services as required during the coronavirus crisis. As part of the support the Army will provide during the pandemic, the number of troops at a heightened state of readiness will be doubled to 20,000 and Reserves will be placed on standby. The Ministry of Defence is also planning to train 150 military personnel to drive oxygen tankers around the country to support the NHS. Scientists from the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) will also help Public Health England’s effort to understand the virus and tackle the spread.

Not here apparently, the kids said they'll try again tonite to try & get some fruit & veg
-
I'm not sure why people are stockpiling fresh fruit & veg as they only have a shelf life of 1 or 2 weeks. They'll probably end up throwing most of it away, dickheads.

Miss T & Master T went to get some shopping for us in Cramlington last night. They managed to get pasta & a few bits & pieces they tried everywhere to get flour ( theres no bread so where going to be making it, well they are I'll be supervising ) tried Aldi, Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco Express they said they eventually got some at the local Londis shop. The kids said it's not possible now to do a weekly shop & we'll just have to pick up bits & pieces when we can.

A bit of good news perhaps A French scientist says he has found an effective treatment for coronavirus with "spectacular results" claiming "we know how to cure the illness". The treatment, Plaquenil, is believed to be based on chloroquine, a drug normally used to treat malaria. Professor Didier Raoult, who initiated the project, pitted two groups of 12 coronavirus patients against each other in the tests. The first group of 12 patients received the treatment and the second was a control group. Raoult, said the results are encouraging, explaining: "We were able to observe that 90% of the patients who had not received Plaquenil were still carriers after six days, whereas when you used Plaquenil, after six days, there are only 25% of carriers left." Didier Raoult has claimed his "spectacular" results after having done tests on 24 patients show that "we know how to cure the illness". It's probably not true, but it ties in with what I'd read earlier in the week that a combination of a drug to treat AIDS & a drug that treats malaria was the way to combat this.virus

When China announced plans to lock down Wuhan and most of the surrounding Hubei province, the news was greeted with astonishment around the world. Experts warned that it was an unprecedented and risky attempt to control the virus that might not work. Nearly two months later, with the daily number of new cases in China down to single digits last week, Wuhan is starting to emerge from two months of isolation, and this approach has become the model for other countries with outbreaks that appear to be sliding out of control. Now there is speculation the British government is preparing to implement something similar in London, the centre of the coronavirus outbreak in Britain. Preparations are underway to put London in a lockdown similar to EU countries if experts decide it is the only way to cut coronavirus deaths, Downing Street says. Prime minister Boris Johnson said he was not ruling out legal restrictions to prevent people flouting health advice to stay at home and keep away from public gatherings. Measures including the closure of most shops and forcing all but essential workers to remain at home are on the table – after an alarming rise in cases in the capital.

Right lads I know we've some people in the medical profession here. Would now be the time when we should be going total lockdown to stop this spreading. Obviously there's people out there that have probably got the virus but are showing no symptoms yet. But surely if we're all quarantined it will prevent it spreading further.

I read about a greedy couple of bastards that had 8 × 4 pints of milk in their trolley there was nothing left. There was an old lay she asked them could she have one they said no. There was a guy there who's just bought a 4 pint & gave it to the old lady. Another old lady pushed to the floor because she was reaching for a pack of bog roll. Mrs T's going shopping later dog help anyone who tries any of that shit with old people & she sees or hears it.
-
No wonder they're limiting certain items in supermarkets Master T went to Benton Asda last night he said people were pathetic. He said there was an assistant who came out with a cage of bog rolls to put out. Before he got half way up the aisle they'd emptied the cage. Now given what we know about this virus it doesnt give you the shits so why panic buy bog rolls. He also said there was no fresh fruit or veg left. It'll only be any good for a week, a fortnight at best then the majority will probably be thrown away pathetic

All elite football in England has been suspended until at least 3 April as a result of the spread of coronavirus. All Premier League games, EFL fixtures and matches in the FA Women's Super League and Women's Championship have been postponed. The Premier League said action would resume on 4 April "subject to medical advice and conditions at the time". The Football Association said England's games against Italy on 27 March and Denmark four days later are off. The EFL, which hopes to resume play a day earlier, said clubs were also advised to suspend "non-essential activities" such as "player appearances, training ground visits and fan meetings". The suspension comes on a day of widespread sporting postponements worldwide.
