  2. I think the cats would freak out A man-servant wouldn't go amiss...
  3. Bored and miserable to the point of madness after putting my back out earlier in the week and being confined to the house. The rug in the front room is desperate to be hoovered but I can neither push the hoover nor bend down to plug it in. Cripple
  4. I think they should definitely ban smoking in cars when children are on board and at school gates/children's playgrounds. I'm more than happy to live and let live but if I've got the bairn at the park and there's a bunch of mothers puffing away on cigs (whilst normally ignoring their precious offspring) and dropping fag ends on the ground where the kids are playing, I just find it unacceptable. I don't think you can ban it in parks in general - where will it end? People can smoke in their own houses and that's all? But then should they be allowed to smoke if there are children in the house too? Whilst tobacco is a legal substance and the government are reaping the taxes from it, they can't really ban the use of it in 'public.'
  5. Hmm, I don't work with any Eton twats - we're all just rebellious nurses who dare to strike. Maybe I watch it to remind myself that despite everything, I'm actually fine with not being a "high flyer"
  6. Why do I put myself through this every year? Egotistical arseholes bickering like children about who did/didn't sell toilet brushes/hot dogs.
  7. I'll PM you the now legendary 'Meenzer's Guide To Berlin' which does the rounds every time someone books a trip there
  8. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/newcastles-royal-victoria-infirmary-standby-7902188 It's coming! As long as it stays on that side of the river we'll be okay here
  9. Ah, but could you go a week without the internet full stop?
  10. Yep. John Deacon hasn't been involved since the late 90's.
  11. Queen have been performing shows with Adam Lambert for the past few years. Its one of my big regrets that I didn't get to see Freddie live and I don't know if I could bring myself to go and see the rest of them without him (they're at the arena in January)
  12. Do you have any knowledge of the Fluenz Tetra vaccine, Chez? Would you let the bairns have it?
  13. He's soft as shite man! But very calm and very wise. A bit like a 5-year old Yoda
  14. The last ones my little one had were when he was 3. I'd had a chat with him, explained it all and told him it would hurt for a minute and then he'd be fine and could have a treat. When we were sat in the waiting room there were kids coming out of the room wailing and bawling which concerned him greatly (he can be a serious little thing) When it was his turn we went in and the nurse asked him if he wanted to sit on mammy's knee which he declined and just sat on the chair looking very calm. She explained there'd be one in each arm and he should look away. He was having none of it! He watched her give both injections, didn't flinch, then got up and headed for the door. As soon as we got outside he just said "Can I have my treat now?" He never fails to amaze me
  15. The bairn has had all of his recommended childhood vaccines up til now but I did refuse to let him have the swine flu vaccine when he was 9 months old. I felt there was a total knee-jerk reaction to the whole thing and didn't feel like it had been properly researched in babies. Funnily enough I spent a lot of last night reading up on the current flu nasal spray vaccine that his school are trying to force upon all the kids at the moment. I think I'll probably let him have it this time although I still have some reservations, and am basically just a cynical old nurse
  16. He started following me on Twitter a few weeks ago.
