I know this means absolutely nowt to anyone else but I got my Christmas/new year work rota. I'm working the nights of 26-29th Dec and that's it. Other than being on maternity leave, I've not had Christmas AND New Year off in 20 years

Well A&E is an interesting place to be tonight. Just seen an inebriated Tigger kick-off and abscond while nurses tried to treat him. Hallowe'en really brings out the worst of knobheads.

If you feel strongly enough about it then go to HR. I've recently discovered that being 'nice' and 'tolerant' and making excuses for peoples behaviour, both at work and in life in general gets you nowhere. You'll be the one left frustrated and fed up. If you want things to change then change them. Don't rely on other people to change them for you.

I think it's safe to say I've had better weeks.

Aye, that's tonight's treat. The last 3 have just been so mental that I've left over an hour late each morning, plus the person taking over from me has been off sick or slept in. You just know that tonight we're going to get nothing through the door and I'm going to be clock-watching all night. I start fantasising about how far away I could be from the place if I was on a plane for 12hrs instead....

Sleep, work (13hrs+ with no break) whinge, repeat x3. I'm a joy to be around at the moment
