Sassuolo have perhaps signed a replacement for Scamacca, so he could be on the move in the near future. What I've read is the he will perhaps want to stay in Serie A, and that Luis Campos, the new PSG director of football who was linked to us at one point in time, is on good terms with the people who run Sassuolo, so who knows. It would seem we could end up being fourth or fifth choice so it seems pretty unlikely.

Gerrard seems to be going the opposite route to Howe in terms of character of player. I will laugh my head off if it all blows up in his face and he ends of bankrupting Villa and getting the sack. Bale and Coutinho are the last people you want on the proverbial cold night at Stoke, and judging by the Sevilla owners comments, if they weren't just sour grapes, Carlos went there for the money and little else. Of course if we end up signing Bale it will be an utter masterstroke by Ashworth and Howe 😀 There might actually be a connection between Ashworth and Bale given his son, iirc correctly, plays for one of the Welsh youth teams.

Newcastle United monitoring Bristol City prospect after Under-23s breakthrough | BristolWorld Supposedly we're interested in a 16 year old attacking mid off Bristol City. Ashworth isn't fucking about in his attempts to overhaul our youth set up if all these links are true, added to the young Irish and Scottish lads we've already brought to or are in the process of bringing to the club.

Ekitike you'll never know. Ekitike I need you so.

Newcastle can sign player with £103m release clause for almost £70m less (tbrfootball.com) Supposedly we're interested in Darwin Nunez's understudy/former striking partner. His stats on first sight don't look at all impressive, given he only scored seven goals and had one assists in 29 appearances, but 12 of those appearances were fairly short subs on, and he scored those goals once he was starting and had a consistent run in the side. Regardless though if his price really is thirty odd million then it's far too much for someone who's just come on the scene and didn't even play consistently for a full season. Although I suppose the same could be said for Ekitike. It's a risky game the club seem to be playing, as in they're attempting to get players right before they start fulfilling their potential, but I suppose that's the game that sides like Leipzig, Dortmund etc play. There's also the fact that Benfica don't need to sell after getting the fee for Nunez. Newcastle offer for signing could reach €20-25m - Youngster has 'pulverised' records - Sport Witness There's also another story about this Roger Fernandes kid from Braga. That's a lot of money to pay for someone who they'd supposedly have to loan back to Braga given he's still only 16. If it's Ashworth's call he must have extremely high hopes for this kids development.

Most likely the ten million more is in add on's to the transfer fee as opposed to the wages.

Newcastle United interested in Nick Pope; other Burnley players on radar (90min.com) Cornet I'd take for definite. McNeil has potential given he's still only 22, but I'd imagine he'll be more expensive than Cornet, so if it's a choice between the two I'd go for Cornet. If you can score 9 goals for that Burnley side in 26 games you've obviously got something about you.

Newcastle United agree fee and personal terms for Kilmarnock's Charlie McArthur - The Athletic One for the future but a lot of potential by all accounts.
-
I don't really see the point in bringing in Pope when we're supposedly after someone with superior distribution to what we have in Dubravka.

Thank fuck those "leaked" fixtures were pure bollocks. They had us playing all the top sides in the first month or so. The actual fixtures are much more manageable, with the three match run of Citeh at home and Wolves and Liverpool away the only real ball aching run until November. As for the office software discussion I had no idea there was such a thing as a scrum master 😂 so you learn something new everyday.

Just read that Ward-Prowse is valued at 75m by Southampton. Mind you the original source of that valuation was The Sun, so who knows how accurate it is. If it is true it's just yet another example of the ridiculous over valuation attached to English players. Ward-Prowse is a very decent player, but he's barely worth half that.

“Newcastle are trying to hijack the deal” - Toon launch late bid for £20m man ahead of medical? | NUFC blog – Newcastle United blog – NUFC Fixtures, News and Forum. Possible Botman alternative given he's a left footed centre back. If true it could also be us trying to focus the minds of Lille and Botman's agent.

Constant niggles could be linked to him not giving a shit, not training and warming down properly etc. It may also be the case that he was told to do one, not be around the squad, and the reports of injury were at times either fabricated or overblown. In any case obviously he'd need to pass a medical. I'm not really sold on it myself either, but it's a high risk move that could work out if the conditions are right, and Howe believes that Bale would keep his head down.
-
Seen a video of some ITK football blogger stating his case for Bale being a good shout for us. Immediately I would assume that he's not the type of character that Howe would want around the squad. Then again Bale does seem to care about his involvement with and representing Wales, so getting him just before the World Cup could see him take his football seriously in order to be in peak condition for the WC, as opposed to just playing golf with Shelvey seven days a week.

Rhythm is a chancer concurs with Hope that it's the clubs and agents who are messing us about as opposed to the players themselves.
-
Getting more than a little tedious with these two. Although I suppose the window has only just officially opened, and the tedium I feel mostly comes from the fact that we've been after these two since January. If Hope's info is correct, along with other things I've read, it would seem that both players are at least open to moving to us, despite all the stories in Italian publications to the contrary regarding Botman.
-
He'll want to be starting, and he won't start at Chelsea.
-
Yeah he probably will go back to Spurs, or even Arsenal and West Ham at a push, can't see Chelsea going for him, but he did move to Milan when he likely could have stayed in or close to London when he left Spurs.
-
I remember Areola being very decent for Fulham, especially seeing as they were a relegation team. Then again you would like to think we could do better than West Ham's back up keeper from last season. Fabianski is a class keeper of course, so there's probably no shame in being kept out of a team by him. If we can get him for 11m he could be a very good shout, given that he's certainly better than Darlow. I don't recall how good his distribution was but it's supposedly very good, so everything else being equal or thereabouts, he'd likely take out number one spot given distribution is probably Dubravka's biggest weakness.
-
Reading between the lines it seems like Eriksen will take the best offer regardless of whether the team is in Europe or not, but it will be a nice bonus if indeed that club is also in the CL. I suppose it may also come down to what his relationship is like with Conte. I could be wrong but I seem to remember Conte benching him quite a bit at Inter, and him being in and out of the team, so it depends on how he took that I suppose.
-
We're told that midfield isn't our top priority, but Bissouma is decent in fairness, we have been linked in the past, and obviously there's the Ashworth factor. But I suppose we have to be realistic in any case; Spurs are a London club in the Champions League, plus Conte is rightly one of the most respected coaches in the world. Of course I'd never say any of this to my Spurs supporting brother in law.

Arse licking for a scoop is an unfortunate series of words. Plus you'll only get the lads started again talking about gallons of lube etc. 😂 👍
