Van de Beek off to Everton. Makes sense that Everton got him given they are neither anywhere close to Man U in the table, nor are they seen as potential rivals in the years to come. -

Burn will be a very useful squad player at the very least next season, should we stay up, knock on wood. He may be limited in comparison to some of the names we've been linked with, but they wouldn't have been able to settle as quickly, or have the passion that a Newcastle supporter will have for the team. As for Henderson it's a no brainer to get him in if Lingard isn't happening. He's a better all round keeper than Dubravka for sure. -

Newcastle plot last-minute £25million move for Wolves captain Conor Coady - Daily Star From the star so obviously take it for what it's worth. -
It's unfortunate that realistically speaking he won't train properly with us until Friday next week. Can't see him doing much on Thursday after travelling back from Brazil. So he'll maybe only make the bench for Tuesday if Howe wants to be a bit cautious. But perhaps the three or four sessions we get in from the Friday until the Tuesday will be deemed enough. Then again I suppose these are the things you have to take on the chin when you have a Brazilian international in your team 😁

Seen a very dubious rumour that Botman hasn't returned from Lille's training camp in Spain with the rest of the team. There had been talk from Graves about us getting one of our top defensive targets, so maybe it's true. On the other hand maybe people are just making wishful assumptions based on people on the wind up. In fairness this is much more thin than anything Wykiki has posted, so I'll accept whatever punishment that is thought fair 😉👍 -

Brighton reject second bid for Dan Burn from Newcastle - The Athletic Or maybe not 😑 That being said if Brighton are lining up a replacement, maybe they are anticipating some sort of compromise on the fee being made before the deadline. -

That would be great but surely there's no chance. If Lampard takes the job without assurances that DCL wouldn't be sold before the window shuts, he deserves to take them down. -

Fat Frank looks to be getting the Everton job. I'd laugh my tits off if he took them down. All his mates in the media would go into overdrive blaming the owners and probably even Rafa. Mind you the owners are shit, but with DCL back fit they should have enough to stay up. -

Hope seems to think he was just referring to Guimaraes, but nice to see that Eddie seems pretty confident that there will be more in the door after Bruno. -

He's supposedly a bit like Lukaku, or at least Lukaku when he plays in Italy. Very fast and strong, has good shot on him. I don't profess to be a Serie A expert, but surely someone who's consistently played and got into high double figures, scored in the champions league, is better than a bench warmer like Origi. Not that I think Origi is shit by any means, but as Gemmill said there's something a bit off about an eternal bench warmer, regardless of how consistently he scores with the minutes he does get. -

There was a rumour that Atalanta were after Origi as a replacement for Zapata should we sign him from them. -

12-15m for a just turned 29 year old premier league proven centre back is probably fair enough in today's prices. In fairness he is in one of the best defences in the league. He doesn't seem to make many mistakes, which is a vast improvement over some of our defenders who seem to be auditioning for a Chuckle Brothers revival. Although I suppose it has to be said that if Brighton didn't have players like Bissouma in midfield, Burn and the rest of the Brighton defence would be under a lot more pressure. -

He's the fastest player in the Bunesliga, and Mainz would accept an offer of 12.5 million according to an article I just read. Bakker, St. Juste, Burn and Trippier could be a very solid backline. -
