1. I watched a bit of Italian footie and I must say I'm not that impressed. Some lovely touches and great skill at times but overall I don't think he's that great. 112763 Agree, white man's composed Shola Ameobi.
2. Welcome to 2001 112596 I know. Same with the Office, League of Gentleman, Big Britain, I'm Alan Partridge, Red Dwarf and for Faulty Towers, a good few years. I'm not a telly adict so I don't go out my way to watch stuff, I usually watch all these shows when they get repeated on terrestrial TV a few years later. Scrubs was on a channel on freeview at a mate's house, sat down and watched it for 20 minutes, laughed a lot but as I said, bit too slick for me, no real spontaneity to it. I was second guessing the gags after 10 minutes. I don't think I've watched an episode of 24 or lost either which seems to dominate N.O and some posts on here.
3. Watched a show called Scrubs the other day, found it canny funny if not a bit too slick if you know what I mean. Don't think I'll go out and buy the series.
4. I watched a good series on the Discovery the other week, Rome? Was about Rome anyway, him out of Game On (not the dark haired bloke) was the presenter.
5. I skip past the golf stuff, don't see the fascination with it myself, boring game for boring people. Probably Hitzfeld's only weakness
6. It looks like it's just an internet copy+paste job. I'd be slightly concerned about the focus: 2 pages on Newcastle United; 4 on the railway and 20 on golf-courses. 111410 Aye, it is. One of the most useful things about Google is it's great at detecting blatent plagiarism. None of this "dossier" is original, it's all cut and pasted from wikipedia and such. I'm not saying that it was claimed the document was original, but what a waste of time. Why on Earth would Hitzfeld want to read this gash? Peaspud has obviously spent a fair bit of time on his hoax, but at least it's given most of us a laugh as well as exposing how shoddy journalism can be (not that that's a surprise). Anyway, how do you practise irreligion? An oxymoron, Shirley. 111511 Jesus wept, no-one told you to read it and it wasn't just created for the Hitzfeld thing and again, no-one said it was an original piece or a stunning account of all things Newcastle/Geordie. I can't help feeling some of the remarks of late are borne out of petty past rivalries or some other personal agenda type shit. Get a life you sad bastards, sitting picking away at every nook and cranny of every piece of text, word, comment or whatever from the Hitzfeld thing or N.O At least Peasepud was original.

I was just curious as to what the point was of making a "dossier" consisting entirely of other people's work stitched together from the internet (all unreferenced and uncredited), and more to the point, in what way did you think this was going to influence Hitzfeld? Did you really think he was going to say "Wow, Look at all ze golf courzes near Newcastle, I must zign for them?" 111526
8. But it is good to see that HTT is at least keeping the questions short when he is soliloquising... 111109 We had you sussed all along man...
9. The example I gave offered a real 100% difference in the statistics, a pretty perfect example of an un-semantical argument; I'm assuming you're using words you don't understand. Whenever someone tries to nicely explain where you're making an error, you don't listen. I'm just suggesting you look at your figures if you're not trying to mislead all the people who have faith in you. 111472 You over analyse too much. You read what you want to read, you've looked at those figures and automatically assumed that we are viewing the poll results and the petition results as two different things, and that we have then added the two together to come to our final figure. Why on here does every thread or post descend into a battle of semantics, or as in Bum's case, who can be the most patronising wanker?
10. I really hope you're joking. 111468 Why, will I get wrong or something?
11. Same here. Thinking of getting it out, waste of money and full of repeats. The footy is shite anarl. 111459 spot on the quality of premiership football this season has been mostly pretty poor imo according to the forums over at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ if you ring sky and threaten to cancel they will offer at least 3 months at half price. 111462 That's actually true, I've already done it. Wonder if they'd be up for doing it a second time...
12. I'm not quite sure what you mean, to put it at its simplest: If 2,000 users vote on a poll and then the same 2,000 users sign a petition, that doesn't equal 4,000 people. 2,000 people voted for Hitzfeld in an internet poll. You claim a further 2,000 signed an online petition, therefore you're adding the 2 together and coming up with a figure of 4,000. It would be normal to assume a very similar group (Newcastle fans/Hitzfeld fans/Internet Users/etc.), of which there are a relatively small number, using 2 approval mechanisms being distributed largely in the same space as overlapping, unless you had specific data available to indicate otherwise. Then expand that example out to include the support emails you have received and any other means of calculating figures you are using. 111406 Semantics tbh.
13. Same here. Thinking of getting it out, waste of money and full of repeats. The footy is shite anarl.
14. Interesting read. How have the voters on this poll been verified as being different the the petition signers and the emailers? The norm would be to assume a severe overlap, surely? The figure of 10,000 (which is now anywhere up the 15,000 according to the 'interview' published a couple of days later) is still well short of the majority of supporters repeatedly claimed by the campaign. 111281 Could you be a bit more specific please?
15. Not a flim but I watched the full series of Band of Brothers again last week. Great show but the way they portray the Brits lets it down, otherwise cracking stuff. Watching series 1&2 of the Sopranos this week. Other day I watched that Anchor Man? Thought that was canny in a light hearted way. Zanny in parts which I like.
16. Casino the other neet on that new channel. Great film. One of the best IMO.
17. Like one of my articles this... just keeps going and going and going and on and on and ariston. Anyone remember that ad? What was it about again? Reminds me of this thread, or should I say this thread reminds me of that. Fook knows. BTW who is this RS2000 character then? I have my suspicions.
18. We don't put up everything you know, but we aren't that fussy, true. Not because I'm being nice, just because it's a site for people to have their say and that's why it's so successful, people get a cross-range of views on wor site, good, bad, daft, objective, rants, the lot. It's different and that's why I guess people keep coming back. Stats for yesterday: 28,710 visitors. That's more than what the Mackems get at the SOL and I'm proud of that. Anyone can get their views on the site, that's the whole point. You could Alex, anyone can. Our readership comprise of all kinds, people wanting serious opinion, objective opinion, non-controversial opion, rants, light humoured articles, tactics, statistical type articles or my longwinded waffle. They can't seem to get enough of it. Just look at our feedback: http://www.newcastle-online.com/mailbag/nu...ourshout2.shtml I'm extremely proud of the site and thankful to anyone who contributes, I draw the line at certain stuff, but in the main, anything goes. You should try it. As for JJ, his articles are always enjoyable and he was a popular contributor, he always pulled in tons of feedback, regardless of what he wrote about.
19. With the greatest respect, what the hell has a liver condition got to do with someone's opinion? 58773 It has different meanings, doesn't it? Anyway, I don't know, just sounded canny.
20. I can't programme for toffee man. I'm not the best with graphics either. I build websites, that and usability/information architecture is my forte. I love the whole usability sector of the web. That's probably the only thing keeping me interested in the industry. While we are here, who's up for a discussion on information architecture? Howay, it's a blast. No? Sharks, then? 58765 In that case, you're shite! Toontastic wins!! [/thread] 58770 I'm a canny drawer, if that helps.
