  1. Don't start that 'the were still alive during my lifetime' Bill McCracken shite again you little gimp Gallacher threw himself under a tram for starters in the 40's or 50's.
  2. Does anyone remember when Gerry Adams had an actor's voice?
  3. Anyway, back to the thread, I still see Barton going as being consistent with what I mentioned elsewhere about all big earners leaving when their contract re-negotiations fall due: inevitable if they're actually in demand elsewhere. (contrast Alan Smith). It'll take no account of their position on the field (ie whether or not there is squad cover available) or their intrinsic value to the team. We're in a cycle of signing players on very modest wages and then having enough slack within the wage structure to offer them one level of uplift on renewal if they perform. It's still all about who's coming in and (as Stevie has said) you can add a centre half to the LB and striker requirement. If at least two of those three aren't done adequately before the end of the window, it's an unjustifiable weakening of the team for the season.
  4. that is not really correct, again. It isn't so simple as Ashley v Fred, the next owner could also get nowhere near the ex owners either. I'll leave it up to you if you want to start disputing this with me - again, and trying to prove me wrong, like you have done for the last 4 years, but one day the penny may drop that not too many people actually will match or better them. We will see. There are worse owners than Ashley, I say this because I now think he is doing all this deliberately to get his money back asap and sell the club for whatever he can when someone offers an acceptable price. After all this time I still dont quite get you. Do you really think anyone on here would not rather be back in the days of SJH when we had money to splash and people who cared running the club? Did you not notice that it had gone to slime under Shepherd and that people quite rightly hoped Ashley may do better? Do you think there is anyone on this forum who wouldnt dance at the exit of Ashley given a better owner took over? Seriously, can we not fucking leave this? My reason for posting what I said is explained below. A lot of the time you have to actively manage threads from taking this unwanted direction, so please don't openly invite it.

Not the point I'm making - I'm saying Chez's output is the antithesis of the polarised claptrap that gets posted on here and therefore to call him an Ashley 'apologist' is both wrong and yet entirely symptomatic of that particular problem. It's not a cue for an Ashley/Shepherd debate, in fact quite the opposite-I'm appealing for people to engage brains when they read what's written, particularly when it's done thoughtfully and logically, because sadly that's not as common as it ought to be on here given the posters we have. If anything, I phrased it like that so Gloomy would understand what I was getting at, because he often makes the same criticism himself.
  6. Aye, I was going to say like if it's not obvious to everyone that Chez's position is essentially one of constant review (in the pure sense) then it's yet another case of people reading summat, not liking it and simply translating it into Ashley/Shepherd-esque bite sized consumption to suit their own palate. It's not like we don't have enough of that on here. Mercifully, Chez is at the opposite end of that spectrum.
  7. 109.89 miles PR Newcastle United Football Club Closest: 3.48 miles PR Manchester United Football Club Previously Citeh before they moved.
  8. and "buttfucking" doesn't count then ? The laughing smilie is at YOU, because once again, your obsession clouds the reality. Gloomy, like yourself, jumped into this at me with no mention of either of you by myself whatsoever. Well you quoted me, contradicted my point and told me to 'wake up'. I didn't even mention you as your opinion was irrelevant to what I was saying. It's on page 72. Then later you issue an open letter to the board pleading for suggestions as to why I'm 'getting involved' and suggesting an ego problem. Basically, you confuse the facts within two pages, so obviously you've no chance whatsoever of correctly recalling things that were said over 5 years ago. Unfortunately though you seem to be stuck there forever in your own altered reality, hence why people avoid you. If the bit in bold is right by the way, I'll apologise for whatever you seem to want an apology for (if that'll help). If it's wrong though, have a good long think about how your perception of whats going on is different to reality. Page 72, post 1426 just have a quick shufty. That's me 'jumping into this at you' is it?
  9. I didn't mention you at all though, Leazes and you claimed I was trying to 'get involved' or some such. It's basically just seeing what you want at the end of the day. Then it went the usual way, which anyone could have predicted. Bulk smilies followed by 'shitforbrains' etc. It does make you look daft as Gloomy says.
  10. I think it's improved since people stopped trying to have a sensible debate with you Leazes tbh. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to have helped you much personally, as although you'd get worked up when you were arguing, you clearly now get worked up when people don't argue, to the extent you go trolling for it (as above). You can't really blame Gloomy for putting you on ignore in fairness. Where people are saying 'get over it and move on', they actually mean that as honest advice rather than a piss take. It's definitely sad case behaviour.
  11. what about "obsessed" We're finally getting somewhere.
  12. Apparently, the word of the day is 'buttfucked'
  13. Besty, doesn't your mum post on here?
  14. Don't worry, his dad will have seen them before - it's Besty's sista! If that was the case, he should still be bathing her. Oh look, she's in a bath.
  15. Besty, doesn't your dad post on here?
  16. Does that not strike anyone else as a particularly wide cleft?
  17. Only really encountered that once but if memory serves the 'admin fee' is illegal. That is to say, there's no legal basis on which they can insist on it. Most people pay it though just to save hassle and to get the thing processed quickly.
  18. You gimp! I've worked in the sols office of a tax collecting authority for many years (ok too many tbf) and I've had people from within that same department come up to me asking how they can evade tax on their imported cd's etc when internet shopping during their work hours. That's people who spend their working day 'protecting the revenue' by pursuing tax in it's various forms on behalf of the government. It baffles me they can't appreciate that what theyre asking me is antithetical to their entire professional existence. I also happen to believe in good public services and for that you need trade and commerce to pay J69's wages. Renton's right like, it is theft at the end of the day and the victim is institutions like the NHS and that is basically my point. J69's attitude is either one of arrogance or ignorance, or I suspect, a heady mixture of the two as in all honesty I suspect he doesn't really gets how these things work.
  19. Apparently marijuana is an effective painkiller for certain symptoms but I have no idea if you've tried this before or have any moral concerns about using an illegal drug.
  20. Badly for who? I couldnt give a flying fuck what people think about my tax dodging habits 20% of everything I make is paid as tax and that's before I pay road tax, council tax and fuck knows what else. I suppose you and Manc Mag pay tax on all your DVDs and CDs you buy and never ever download. We all pay taxes ffs, what makes you so special? You genuinely believe do more than you fair share of work? Bollocks. Ftr, I don't evade taxes, make illegal downloads, or shoplift for that matter. Partly because as mancmag says I can see the connection with taxes and my salary. But mainly because I'm not a thief. About 75% of his output on here reeks of "I'm better than you" in one way or another like.
  21. Badly for who? I suppose you and Manc Mag pay tax on all your DVDs and CDs you buy and never ever download. Basically, if you don't factor tax in and see it as a fair fiddle, who gets hurt? The UK based retailer is at a disadvantage (the guy you're comparing the online prices to) because they have no choice but to apply the tax. So they lose the trade. So they lose jobs. So there's less tax for public services. But obviously you can just ignore all that and expect your wages to materialise out of thin air. I don't say that you're the only person that does it, but I think your attitude is typical of many people in that cosseted public sector mindset, who in many ways should be the ones who know better.
  22. Fuck it mate, I genuinely can't explain it any more clearly than I have. I strongly urge you to go to the nearest shop.
  23. You would love a go on my pinball machine Deadman so dont deny it I don't give much thought to the EU when I'm buying things tbh. I dont know many who do. Ill get it the cheapest way I can, if that means importing it and marking it as a gift then so be it. I put more than my fair share of work and money into this country so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I'm not disputing that, I'm saying that you wouldn't have a job to do if everyone adopted your approach. Your job relies on people paying taxes, it's not something you can go out and do entrepreneurially, you rely on the government you berate to provide your work for you. And by 'more than your fair share', I'd hope you really just meant 'your fair share'.
