This is fascinating. 1) I didn't realise that we thought that we had invented flags. It never ceases to amaze me when I find out what I thought. 2) That flags were in fact invented in Sunderland. Up until about 3 minutes ago, I assumed that it was some Chinese/ medieval invention. For a very underwhelming place to visit, Sunderland have some impressive achievements. I was impressed with Athletico Madrid, but I think this one may pip it to be fair.

That is a very misleading correlation to make and I think this goes to show that you don't understand football. This could be down to a couple of factors: 1)Magedia which genuinely has you brainwashed 2)Sportswashing which means the Saudis have got to you. It is a well known fact, unless you support Newcastle aka Saudi United (Only Newcastle fans don't know this), that the Championship is far better than the Premier League (apart from a few teams, somewhere around 20) and that as soon as you get promoted, you become worse than when you were in the Championship which is why the lesser teams of the Premier League end up beating you.

Once again, it has been a very difficult week for Sunderland. Each one of those 4 goals would have hurt them. On another note, how did their match go?

It is odd that regardless of their result today, our game would have made it a bad weekend. I had no interest in the Premier League when we were in the Championship and they were in the Premier League. This wasn't due to some warped belief that the Championship was better, just that I am mainly focused on NUFC so there have been two seasons where I didn't really check up on the table regularly or the other results to see how they impact on us. Likewise, I often get a little surprised when I check on the Championship to see who is there and how they are doing as it doesn't impact on us. I couldn't really care less how they were doing when we were in the Championship and the same applies now. I feel the rivalry loses a bit when we don't play.

My big issue today was that it came on the back of the Liverpool game. I still have no problem with the Man City result. Man City are a far superior team to just played better than us. I felt at 1-0 against Liverpool we could get 5 or 6 goals and tried to get my eldest, who doesn't like football, to come and have a watch hoping that maybe a bit of entertainment might hook him in (he left after 3 minutes of being bored so I cannot blame the game). We just didn't do anything in the Liverpool game and we lost it rather than they won it. Today, in terms of the game as a whole, rather than moments, we offered nothing. It is disappointing as I wanted a response given the fact it was the same team minus the one enforced change. I don't mind losing if I feel we gave a good account. It feels the last two games we really lacked the merit of a win in either which is disappointing.

So, not sure which logic they are going on here, would that also impact PSG due to their funding or would it impact Arsenal as well because they play in a country that is not in the EU? Or is it just us and Manchester City, because the story doesn't make sense because it is not real?

The statement was more a reference/ implication to the fact TAA should have been sent off rather than a direct statement that I thought they would have 9 players on the pitch. I agree about your statement that VVD may not have fouled Isak but that would have then led to a goal and we would be very likley 2-0 which would have been a step too far, psychologically, for them and how wobbly they were at that point. On the other hand, the full game was changed by decisions that people choose to make that are wrong. I do agree that the game was lost on the subs which is what I have said in another post. I don't think Howe had a great game for us yesterday and I am glad that I am able to acknowledge this. We have a brilliant manager who, I think, got it wrong. On reflection, I am really annoyed by the game, the lost opportunity and the fact that it was down to us and not them. This is the first time that I have felt like this under Howe and I hope, and believe, that, although it won't be the only time that I feel like this, it will be in the minority of games that he manages us. I think football can be rubbish at times and this is one of them. I do agree that it would not have been 9 actual players though.

Not that sad, to be fair- it has been a great weekend for SAFC. On an unrelated note, how did they get on against Coventry?

Should have been 9 players. You cannot help but wonder how many more times we are screwed over. Cannot help but think that the changes could have been better but we have to take the bad with the good. It is bitterly disappointing but it is the way these things will go. This was such a missed opportunity.
