I suppose it depends on whether the amount of cash at stake is significant. Is flogging tickets a problem these days?

I guess if all you see is a genial fat bloke who pays you large amounts of money in the twilight of your career and enjoys a drink, then you'd think he's all right too. Unfortunately we've been on the receiving end of the unpleasant sides of his character in the way hes run the club.

I doubt they give a toss about what the fans think one way or another. After this ia the regime that appointed Kinnear. Twice.
-
Good point. They're also surrounded by toadying sucker fish who'll be busy blowing smoke up their arses and feeding their egos.
-
I think that top footballers also inherently believe they're good enough to start every week at any club they go to. You don't get to the top without that sort of self belief/arrogance no matter how talented you are.
-
I hope you're wrong. I was actually feeling quite cheerful about someone like Garde getting the job. Carver would be a disaster imo.
-
That assumes that one Obertan is actually worth paying money for?
-
astonishing comments from poyet there. Can't have endeared him to his employer...
-
Anybody who doesnt pick Willo and Gouffran would help our survival chances
-
I'd be worrying about our own position if Carver keeps weaving his magic till the end of the season. We're only 7 points off the relegation places ourselves with Soton up next
-
The magical Williamson and Gouffran combo. Carver is Pardew Lite.

That starting XI is gash

Chelsea for the win. I'd be happy if we got a goal, ideally a pen with Terry sent off
-
I wonder if he's heard of Mike Williamson

I'm afraid Mickey Quinn's comments don't count as analysis. I agree with you Howay....not that I'm particular au fait with the likes of de Boer, Garde, Tuchel, Clement etc but all of them sound qualified to take us forward. tbh anybody better than half decent will be a step up from Pardew and the chuckle brothers as coaches....hopefully with the added bonus of not talking complete shite in the press and blaming everyone else for his own failings. I must say I'm enjoying the absence of Pardew in that respect.

I've always thought Taylor was a nasty piece of work.
-
Is that with or without his consent?
-
Derby iirc we set out to preserve a 0-0 scoreline against a team everyone else was beating easily with a modicum of attacking intent. That reminds of someone who left us recently....
-
I suspect most ex pro footballers don't bother to do any research and either just spout the consensus view or regurgitate what someone else has told them in the pub. If they'd actually watched Pardews teams getting regularly stuffed 3 or 4 nil over the last 2 seasons, the dreadful standard of football, the negative tactics and bizarre subs etc, they wouldn't speak up for him. Same goes for Allardyce when he managed us, he was dogshit awful. Townsend has always been a rotten pundit. Offers nothing a gobby bloke from the pub couldbt provide
-
According to his wiki page he signed for Coventry City in 1995 which was around the time we would've been in for him. I suspect he wishes he'd kept driving up the motorway.... Interestingly he did sign for Keegan years later at Fulham, so KK definitely liked him.
-
Andy Thorn didn't play for us for long. The other name that stands out in connection with us is John Salako, who iirc we tried to sign back in the entertainers era.

Old. Tick.

I assume "Wrighty" played with Pardew at the Palace?
