I have mixed feelings about this. I feel NUST has taken a direction I can't fully get behind since the 'Yes we can' push. I'm probably not going to renew. Anyone else had theirs? Seems they've really achieved fuck all. They certainly haven't spent the last year "building membership" based on what people on here have said.

The place mings let alone the people. I had the great misfortune to live in Chatham for a few months in the late 80's. What an unmitigated shithole, scruffy soulless and overdeveloped. It was without doubt the worst time of my life and I got out of there as fast as I could. The "Medway towns" - Chatham, Gravesend, Gillingham - in fact were all total shitholes. North West Kent was just one big stinking shit filled toilet, dunno if it's improved these days. I was pissed nearly every week night, blind drunk Friday nights down the local, and away to London all weekend. * Shudders at the memory * To be fair Rochester is quite nice but it's basically just a high street and a small cathedral with a dual carriageway running alongside it. My impression is that Kent is still a fucking awful county. There were some nice bits when I was there but generally it's full of career criminals like Kenneth Noye, other dodgy fuckers, illegal immigrants and stockbrokers called Nigel. And then there's that bloody awful motorway (M2?) that's always full of stationary trucks and Dover which is also a shithole. If you cut it off and sunk it in the Channel you'd probably improve Southern England at a stroke.

The suspicion remains that Ashley is merely an asset stripper waiting to flog NUFC to the first chump that comes along with pockets stuffed full of cash. If he has any ambition for the club we'll see the full amount of the Carroll money reinvested (assuming we survive this season) given that the plan was already in place to break even by the end of next season (supposedly). To be honest I'm sympathetic to both Leazes and ASM. It's not reasonable to expect Ashley to throw an endless amount of money at the club. By the same token you've got to invest to keep the club moving forward. If we see very little spending this summer we'll know he'll never care about the latter.

A short while ago I had a small lump on my knee which was removed with local anaesthetic. Turned out to be benign. Having the stiches removed today as it happens. Otherwise nothing other than the odd bout of flu. I'm quite shocked to read about some of the health problems on here tbh given most people are relatively young.

I think he's Mr Mediocre. His track record suggests that survival on a limited budget might be a stretch for him. I suspect he's good at bullshit but short on substance. Probably the sort to get shot in the back by his own men in wartime.
