  1. Not that I'm supporting Rico because he can be a right argumentative cunt but really change the number of posts and you could apply that statement to others. In which ever order you like but arsehole.armpit.the.hairy.calling.like. ! I guess I'm arguing with you now, but nonetheless, you may disagree with my views but you can hardly say that in my time on this forum I've chased down everyone who might put a toe out of line with my way of thinking and personally attacked them with the sheer bloody-mindedness and ignorance of R|CO. This guy is good for nothing. He reminds me of Leazes, except not so much "sad" and more "serious shithead."
  2. You just clearly want to fling insults at me with little to no reason. And you thought I might want to defend myself....... can't think why I might. You poor bairn. The world is such a cruel place. You stand up for yourself! Go Fop! 700 posts since 3 September and you've managed to say nothing of value. Nothing. Zero. Nought. Not a sausage. Nothing. Piss off already you sad charva, the only thing you've done in 700 posts is argue with everyone who says two words to you.
  3. Away to Boro also. They're a load of sad wallies and part-timers who we should've beaten with our eyes closed. Sam hasn't really been tested yet. I feel like we'll see his true quality when we face the big teams. At this point in the season, things are uncertain - we're approaching a turning point. Either we put this shakiness past us and get the big results (at which point this will be forgotten and those who question him now will be singing his praises later) or we take a few big thrashings and begin to hear calls for Sam's head (at which point those defending him now will be chanting "Sam oot" out the sides of their mouths.) Wait and see, I think. I'm not giving up on him yet, meself.
  4. GK: Given RB: Beye CB: Cacapa, Faye LB: Jose Enrique RW: Milner CM: Butt, Emre or Barton LW: N'Zogbia ST: Martins or Owen, Viduka Stick to this or some semblance thereof please Sam. It isn't rocket science, honestly. Play your men in their positions and their quality will be obvious for all to see. Roeder was abused for playing people out of position, so why shouldn't Big Sam be questioned when he does it? I'm not up for this hero-worship business. He's done a good job of rebuilding this team, but buying the players and training them properly is only half of the game - the other half is out on the pitch where we have been subpar and I don't mind saying so. Sam can turn this club around, I am sure of it, but he's got to stay simple and do the obvious first. Enough tinkering.
  5. We looked like we could've won it. Had a hell of a purple patch there for about 10 minutes after our equalizer and it seemed like we were sure to score. Chances muffed: Owen - brilliant control off the hoof from Harper, can't fault him for not scoring. Owen - nonexistent foul called on him when he would've gone through. Milner - blasted into outer space Martins - offside at the last We could've had it. I guess honours even is close enough though, especially considering their glaring misses and Chopra's shot off the underside of the bar. Better than losing to these sad bastards I suppose. I do have a number of complaints though - Barton in particular was woeful and looked more like a thug than a footballer, Big Sam waited far too long to bring Martins on and took off the wrong player for him, and our defence looked as shaky as possible without totally collapsing.
  6. We've been shit. Worse than usual. Smith though has been better than usual, Barton looks like he might've played a few games of football in his youth in between street gang fights, our set pieces have been absolutely laughable, Viduka's been kept nearly out of the game... Owen's been good. I want to see Martins in the game but not for Owen or Viduka.
  7. Pretty goddamn terrible starting XI if I'm honest. The Zog at LB? Barton on the right? Owen captain? What is he playing at? Is it going to be this way every game? In addition, and I know this is a minor complaint, but why aren't we in our home kit? Last time we played them we wore the black and white...
  8. Some fun videos about the SMB. I admit I can't keep from laughing whenever I hear the Peter Reid song, even though I've heard it hundreds of times. (Dirty Monkey Mackems) (Cheer Up Peter Reid) Howay lads
  9. Bolton supporters singing "Are you watching Allardyce" after their goal. Load of sad deluded part-timers tbh.
  10. From ESPNsoccernet: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=48...os2&cc=5901 Murphy is one of the few on ESPN who actually knows anything about north-east football, and also wrote an article about the departures of Solano and Dyer. The article really emphasizes the importance of the derby to both sets of fans. I dare say most Premier League clubs don't value their derbies quite as much as we do. He's right about a win for either side providing a tonic - we can both then say, "Oh, it's not so bad after all, at least we beat the Mackems/Mags." What happens in the event of a draw though? I think a draw looks worse for us - for us this is a must-win game, for them it's a must-not-lose game.
  11. I had trouble recognizing that as the English language for a while. Have I been away too long or are scouse accents getting worse?
  12. Here is some good sense. I hope some of those calling for Cacapa's head are listening. After putting up with some of the alleged centre-backs in recent memory, I honestly cannot believe that people are after Cacapa's blood already. He is class. Even class has bad games. He obviously didn't have it on Saturday, Big Sam realized it and took him off, now it's in the past and it's time to look ahead. He is a first-team player and a solid signing for certain - if I were the manager, I would make him (or Butt) the captain.
  13. Here we go again, it's Newcastle United's Manager Carousel! Round and round we go, when we stop, nobody knows. Didn't think it would start this early, but not altogether surprised. p.s. Big Sam...in? p.p.s. How does Ashley admiring Hughes equate to him being "waiting in the wings?"
  14. Not much to say. Thoroughly shelled. I don't even know who to blame. If we can't do better against the Mackems I can just see the "Sam out" chants beginning.
  15. I hardly need to tell you who needlessly conceded the free kick leading to that goal. It all could have been so different.
  16. It's Enrique off, Martins on. Big Sam going for glory here.
  17. Yep he should instantly be changing games himself after months out... I'm not asking for miracles, I'm just saying he seems to give it away every time he's got it. Go team! You do your home country proud. Seriously though, time for Sam to ring the changes. I think Smith needs to go off as he's a red waiting to happen and isn't exactly setting the game alight as it is. Martins is really the only choice. Pluses to take away from the half: Owen's been good, always looked dangerous this game. The Zog and Milner have also been incisive. That's about it.
  18. Yep he should instantly be changing games himself after months out... I'm not asking for miracles, I'm just saying he seems to give it away every time he's got it.
  19. He never deserved that yellow though, harsh on him.
  20. There's another yellow for Smith. What a surprise. And another thing: what is Barton doing? He's not convincing me, that's for sure.
  21. Defence looks truly woeful. We've given a handball that surely must have been a penalty not to mention conceding three. What is going on? We've looked so solid in some previous games.
  22. Hope springs eternal. If we can get another before halftime we might still have a shot at it.
  23. They might get 10 now. I can't believe what I'm seeing.
  24. It's now 3-0. Utaka has scored.
