This is a disgrace. I want to be sick. You worthless fat shit, pick up the pace or get the hell out. End of story. What do you think you're playing at? btw cue booing at SJP and "you don't know what you're doing" once he makes his first incomprehensible sub.
-
Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on in this game? Derby: 1 win 3 draws. 6 points. 3 of them against us. Derby: 2 away goals. One of them against us. Can we just beat these numpties? Everyone else is doing it, I'm not sure why it should be so hard for us.

Always been from when I was old enough to know what football was. I have a Toon supporters' scarf from the 80s - "Newcastle United, Stars in Stripes" that me mam claims I was wrapped in on the way back from the nursery. So I'll help myself to a million or so magness points.

Mam from Walker. She used to go on about how you walker to Byker and you byker to Walker. Dad not English. Now you know. Only half a mag. The shame!

It's bordering on embarrassing tbh +1 Oh noes. How will I cope? To be fair Gemmil, you do like to single one player out for an incredible amount of abuse. Oba's first touch is suspect at times, but he's hardly the worst player at the club, he's not keeping a better player out of the first team and he is working hard. I'm struggling to see why he's you public enemy number 1? He's not public enemy number 1. When he first turned up at the club people went WAY over the top about how good he was. He wasn't and he still isn't. I've maintained that he's poor for a long time (I've been proven right imo) and I'm just interested to see when those who have claimed he is quality will own up to the fact that they got it very wrong and that he is in fact a very average player. As to singling players out - I don't do it at the match, but I see no point whatsoever in sugar-coating things on a message board. Proven right? By whom? Yourself? You need only look at the scoring charts to see what Martins has "proven." About the only piece of credible information in this post is bolded. Fact is your crusade against Martins is what's "WAY over the top." He's a good player who cares about this club and although he has his faults, I'll back him to the end.

My take on this game: Gemmill has talked a load of untenable bollocks in this thread, we've got 7 points off three games and one of them with the Arse, however they came, and we at Casa Acrossthepond are going absolutely nuts. EDIT: Beye is a hero and Cacapa is not the nightmare people have made him out to be. Kneejerk reactions are bad.

Emre/Solano/Krul all ok, Owen seemed a decent deal at the time, Parker passable but never worth 6.5 mil and never good enough. Although as some have said I'd have him over Alan Smith in the midfield.

Get out of Toon: Newcastle put £8m Owen up for grabs
acrossthepond replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
The only quote needed if I'm honest. 30 mil for that wastrel. -
So do I. As far as I'm concerned, the defence is suitable for the moment. Now it's the midfield needs work, and we will need some $$(too lazy to make the pound sign ) for that. Get out the chequebook Mr. Ashley.
-
He's horrific. He should never have been given the time that he was, sending the USA squad to the World Cup under that clown was an embarassment. He'll never get the Scotland job but if he does there ought to be weeping in the streets tbh.
-
Any actual quotes about the Toon job? No? Piss off. The only believable information in this writeup is the bit about the decision to appoint Geremi as captain. But that is probably also invented, if plausible.

If the Zog isn't a LB then why is he playing there? It's time for Enrique, 15 matches later and he still isn't starting. Especially against Arsenal who are not really a blood and guts side, if that's what Sam is worried about. I agree about Smith having a good game, he is always looking more dangerous when up front. Of course when Owen returns we might well see him benched (which would be sad) or relegated to midfield (which would be bad.) I definitely don't agree about Barton, in every performance I have seen from either one this year Emre has surpassed him. Fitness is only an excuse so long, the guy needs to keep his concentration and button his lip. ...My telescope might be on the blink though.

From http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/viewtopic.p...c&start=540 Sad bastards. I'm sure given enough time they'd think of reasons why our whole team should've been sent off. The fact is their team is full of soft wankers who are used to playacting and only got what they deserved today.
-
This is what I expect day in day out from us. We have the squad to do this. There's no reason why we should be going down 3-0 at home to Liverpool when we can perform like that. That said, I thought Butt was shocking today and that if we'd put away our chances there was nothing stopping us from winning this game outright. Adebayor had a great goal but also a fair amount of cheating.
-
Viduka on for Geremi.
-
Proper football from us, they've been lucky to go off at HT one up. Martins surely onside in that last play, not to mention chances from freekicks and other attacks. Beye's been excellent, I thought.
-
This is more like it. Come on lads!
-
Can see us pipping this one. As someone said, this is the kind of game that we win. That, and their midfield is mostly injured. 1-0 with Obafendriy Martinsko to score.
-
Another moron jumping on the bandwagon. The Cacapa comment was well out of line and to be honest I don't think Viduka - especially on a FREE - was a bad transfer at all. Will these people never understand it? We're made out to be so fickle because we want to see progress. In reality, we are as the song goes, the loyalest supporters. We've been there to lose a Robson and gain a Souness. We've been there to watch relegation. We've been in droves to watch disappointment after disappointment. And if these plastic bastards and know-nowt pundits think Man U fans would be showing up to watch their team get thumped 3-0 at home after sacking Ferguson and replacing him with Steve McClaren (somewhat analogous to Robson -> Souness I guess) they've got another thing coming. Question to ask all of these people who insist we should be patient: Have you waited fifty years? Another question to ask all of these people who insist we're fickle: Where were you when you were shit?

Can we please be serious? Might as well say we'll have a three-man manager team of King Kevin, Jose Mourinho, and Jesus Christ.

Why does Sam need more time???
acrossthepond replied to jaythesouthernmag's topic in Newcastle Forum
I will say this, lads - if we don't take at least 9 points off this sad lot I doubt many of you who are backing Sam (and are praying for rain) will be singing the same tune by New Year's. In fact, if we don't take at least 9 points I don't think he'll have a job by New Year's, and you won't hear me complaining. These are must-win games. If he can't win these - especially in the sad, pathetic, downtrodden fashion in which we lost against Reading, Pompey, and Liverpool - then he doesn't deserve the job. Time or no time. Foundations or no foundations. -
:icon_lol: :D This is priceless. It's so bad, I'm actually embarassed for them, the smoggie bastards.

Newcastle's 'vicious' fans shock me, says Barton
acrossthepond replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Barton is the wrong person to be saying this. This guy seems to have all the answers and he's always happy to run at the mouth when the press is around. Maybe if he shut his mouth and worked on his finishing he wouldn't have to be worrying about a vicious atmosphere. As for the booing, I will be the first to say that a football club is for the fans. And those fans who spend their hard-earned money to show up and cheer on their team, who have supported for years, decades, lifetimes, have only one way to immediately express their discontent. They won't sit around and write letters to True Faith, will they now? No, they'll boo, and more power to them. I'm under no delusion that we should be finishing in the top four or that we have a God-given right to beat teams at home. But there is no excuse for the shower of shite that our fans have been subjected to in the last two home games and I do believe we deserve better. We beat Liverpool at home last year with arguably a worse side and a worse manager, and there is no reason why we couldn't have done the same again. Or why we couldn't have drawn. Or why we couldn't have lost with some dignity. No, if the fans have to watch their beloved team getting turned over week after week I think there's only one thing they should be giving the players - and let me tell you, it ain't applause. -
Like Sven or Jose`? Well, I meant better than this particular result, but I wouldn't say no to those two.
-
Sam to be dismissed after the loss to Arsenal as I've been saying all along. Unbelievable loss. One of the few games all year when I've felt the players really had urgency and were honestly fighting to win. We deserved better than this.
