So if your surgery has complications, you're on your own and the first you'll know about it is when you wake up. Then instead of focusing on your recovery you can focus on the fact that you're now financially insolvent. Who has this idea in the first place, and who is the animal that thinks it sounds like a good plan, and approves it? I'm not saying the answer is to shoot an insurance CEO in the street, but that single act causes way less human misery than that policy. It wasn't this bloke's company btw.
