About 2 months ago my hifi amp (an arcam alpha 10 intergrated amp) went on the blink and i put it in for repairs expecting it to take a week or so. 2 months later ive still got no amp and therefore ive had to use the normal tv speakers i order to get sound. and to be honest my tv is a bit SHITE when it comes to sound reproduction. this has meant that my celestion a3 speakers and the arcam alpha 10p power amp have sitting doing bugger all for 2 months. So tonight i had an idea - could i connect my pc to an old 4 track porta studio ive got, using it as a pre amp and then connect the 4 track to the power amp? i have and it does and i'm fecking kicking myself for not thinking of this earlier The neighbours will no doubt be cursing as it been 2 months of peace and quiet for them.

i reckon the thread with all our pics as bairns is pretty good. maybe just me though.
