The entire CL format is geared up to generating this income and has almost made winning a domestic league a seconadary consideration ( which is sad and not the " spirit " of the game ). If platini wants to make a mark he should turn the clock back to the old format on a KO basis from the start but with an additional seeding system. Only the champions qualify, not the rest. Reduce the financial incentive so that it is not the be all and end all of the season and revitalise the euafa cup competition. Won't happen because money talks and to hell with what's best for the game.
