It's great that we're good defensively, but it's obvious we're lacking a player who can create play from nothing. BS did say if we did sell a player we'd look to replace him so hopefully we will get someone in to replace Dyer to play in attack. Hopefully we might just nick this one by a goal...

Will do When I went to Hamsterdom not long ago we all made sure that any liquids/gels were kept in a see-through plastic bag. No wonder the people looking through my gear were sniggering thinking I need all that crap for an hour's flight....! Ah, well. I'll put it all in my suitcase along with wor' lass
-
I'm off to Majorca on the 25th with wor' lass next week, but I'm left confused by these security measures Newcastle airport are taking. For instance, they go on about 'hand luggage' on their website, what's appropriate and what's not, but does that mean to say you can't simply put those items in your suitcase, like gel, shaving form, deodorants, etc? Do those measures simply apply to hand luggage in that you have to place those kinds of items in a see-through plastic bag or can you simply put those items in your suitcase. If that's the case in being able to put them in your suitcase then it doesn't really make any sense...! http://www.newcastleairport.com/pre_travel...rity_Advice.htm

Now we can begin a serious challange towards getting back to where we once were 12 years ago!...............I think it was about 12 year...! Belletti & Faye would do nicely along with a new attacking midfielder. C'mon, BS, spend, spend, spend!

Something which quite a few on here suggested some time ago would and should happen and why he shouldn't have been considered for the captaincy. I don't think he's anywhere near a finished article - sure he has potential, but then so does Huntingdon and Edgar. Be interesting to see how he deals with it, if he's anything about him, he'll deal with the competition positively and up his game. If he flounces and asks for a transfer then he's an idiot! I agree and sadly I can't see him being mature about it either. I can see him fucking off to Arsenal or somewhere down south, but we'll see. Apparently everyone’s buzzing knowing the club are likely to do well this season so are positively battling for a starting place. Taylor does seem to have a snotty ego, but who am I to say that, I don't know him personally......so shut up then! Alight then I will...ssshhhhhh! They can see your talking to yourself! BS said he would turn his attention to the academy once he sorts the 1st team out so hopefully we won’t have to look abroad in future.

You can just see the commentator using the palm of his hand doing an american indian impersonation when he scored. What was with the ambulance siren sounds afterwards too...!

Steven Taylor's gonna feel under pressure surely. Enrique Rozehnal Cacapa Yipes Faye Taylor? Personally I don't think the Yepes deal is gonna happen. I could be wrong, all though that's highly unlikely not to be the case. I do think they should maybe send Huntington and even Edgar out on loan as they've gto no chance really.
-
He is a right back. Ahhh. So in other words he's knowt like Ashely Cole...!
-
Me too, but he sounds like he would be better covering that position than Babayaro whose never fit to in anyways.
-
Great move and should give him plenty of experience to come back & be a better player. I kept telling Alex that, but he wanted him to stay feeling he could make an impact this season. I never doubted that Alex, but it does him no harm going out on loan.

Manager: Kevin Keagan Alan Shearer/Paul Kitson Les Ferdinand/Faustino Asprilla David Ginola Robert Lee Peter Beardsley/ David Batty Keith Gillespie/Ruel Fox John Beresford/Robbie Elliott Philip Albert/Barry Venison Steve Howey/Darren Peacock Steve Watson/Warren Barton Pavel Srnicek/Shaka Hislop _________________________ Manager: Sam Allardyce Michael Owen/Mark Viduka Obafemi Martins/Alan Smith Damien Duff/Charles N’Zogbia Geremi/Nick Butt Joey Barton/Emre James Milner/Nolberto Solano Jose Enrique/Celestine Babayaro David Rozehnal/David Edgar Claudio Cacapa/Steven Taylor/Paul Huntington Steven Carr/ Shay Given/Steve Harper Really starting to shape up well, not that I'm comparing player for player, but the quality of the squad is really starting to look as strong as it did back then with two or three more players yet to sign this season. Our striker situation is probably as good as it was when we had Shearer in Ferdinand when you look at what we have to offer up front this season. In midfield I feel BS is still looking to replace or add another attacking midfielder with Dyer/Nobby looking to leave and hopefully secure a right-back or versatile defender at the back. We've got experience, youth & plenty of quality so I'm really looking forward to this Saturday and what the rest of the season has to bring.
-
We certainly look like being very strong defensively this season, which is something I thought I'd never say, but I think we could do with a pedro in midfield *cough* Diego *cough* ...you can always dream....

5-0! seriously!

Owen, Cacapa, Dyer and Ameobi to play for reserves tonight
Geordie Boyo replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
Tbf Huntington has always been played out of position. Like Edgar, he's a quality up & coming player with a lot of potential, but is wasted when he's played at left & right-back. Ramage can fook off...! -
Newcastle boss given green light to spend more
Geordie Boyo replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
To be fair when Bramble was at the club there were always plenty of cries of "jesus christ almighty" when he was in action. The cires I heard were more along the lines of..."Jesus f#ck christ man!" "Fat useless bastard!" ....and so hell's gates open...! -

The messiah playing in our defence? -
Wes Brown substituted. Maybe his last game for Man-U?
-
Which ever formation you use you can't help but leave at least one key player out with another two/three players still yet to come in
-
He says he wants to get a few more players in, so it’s hard to say at this moment in time. Obviously Owen, Martins, Rozehnal, Geremi, Enrique, Given, Taylor, Cacapa, Barton & maybe Butt would be definite starters, which would just leave........one position. You've then got what could be squad players rather than starting every game when everyone’s fit with the likes of Smith, Viduka, Carroll, Ameobi, Luque, Milner, Zoggy, Duff, Emre, Solano?, Carr, Edgar, Huntington, Babayaro, Ramage, Harper & Forster. If BS does get a few more in it could be likely a few might leave considering the size & quality of the squad. Dyer, Nobby, Luque, Carr? Emre? Ramage, Pattison & Babayaro being obvious choices to leave. It's still early days, but either way it's looking good!
