Nothing has changed IMO, his policy is his policy. He's not going to make a huge return on his investment unless we turn into Man Utd. With FFP what would a new owner bring to the table??, the days of splashing hundreds of millions you don't have (as a club) are gone (or should be). I would guess he's loving it just now, doing it his way and being succesful (relatively). Long may it continue. On the SD thing even if he was using the club as a vehicle, the vehicle has to be better than also rans for it to be really beneficial. SD want to expand into/conquer Europe and then longer term the States (it's in their financial report). He wants it all tbh. For NUFC to help in that NUFC has to be succesful. As I've said ad naseaum billionaires don't do "run of the mill".

Just like the "great" Arsenal back fours, Adams was "the rock" the rest were mainly avaerage (but played above themselves) but Adams was the standout/glue/class.

Speak for yourself Admittedly never thought top four mind, but was more than happy with the "direction"

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Toonpack replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Well work out the real % then if it's "facts", it will be in the region of 25% at the time he was putting big lumps in. If it's actually 22.74563% I'll give Pardew a little peotic licence. It's still a huge wedge. Stupid/petty thing to try and pick up on tbh Maybe you should do a league table of % of personal wealth risked by all football club owners, past and present, represented as a graph obviously (you'll need negative numbers for some notable owners).- 10610 replies

For all the quality going forward I LOVE the way the back four (or six if you prefer, with 2 interchangeable DM covering) are playing. Always maintained a back four is greater than the sum of it's parts, we've got one bit class and three parts so-so ( although on yesterdays performance Santon gets elavated towards class), the system he's got them playing is excellent.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

He's worth that now, since his latest SD bonanza. He was "only" worth around £1.2 Billion-ish a year or so ago. He's in for about £280 Mill all told. Anyway it's just silly semantics really, bottom line, he's in for a considerable wedge of his own cash. IF you want to work out the real %, fill yer boots. Whatever % it is it's still a huge lump.- 10610 replies

One other thing struck me about yesterdays performance, over and above it's completeness was that the team at times played with a real swagger, I haven't seen that in a Newcastle team in ages.

So who actually thinks we will finish 4th?

Don't underestimate the Dicky Branson Midas touch He buys a bank, sponsors it's "local" football team for a very resonable rate, what's the chances he's got a bargain and got his bank Europe wide exposure within 6 months. -
I fucking hate Real (fascist cunts), but of the four games today, this is the one I'll happily be dissapointed in the result.

I didn't think it was possible to challenge where we are without an Arab and around £200-£300 Mill outlay, which obviously was out of the question, it's surreal tbh. I read a post somewhere this evening which said, what Pardew's getting out of our "ordinary" players is Clough-esque, it's not far wrong. Not anointing him as such mind, but this season has been just terrific and wouldn't have been sniffed at by Mr C..

He was excellent when he came on, he looks like a completely different player, amazing transformation.

Of course it is, it's a humble pie

MoM for me, was outstanding, the whole back four were tbh, that said so were all the other fuckers

One of the most complete performances I've seen in years. Absolutely brilliant.

There's always got to be someone who's shit, Simpson is the current "it". He's not great and he's not abysmal, he's somewhere in between. In reality most teams have several players in that "in the middle" category, not flavour of the month = shit. Could he be upgraded?, probably, is it an absolute need to upgrade him?, no.
