Actually I think that the atmosphere might improve with more of the ground on the same levels.

Don't understand the negativity around this. As a seperate venture, the risk to the club is minimised. There's a lack of quality facilities in the city. With better hotels and conference centres it will become more attractive for companies to arrange events, espcially as they are usually followed by alcohol-fuelled carnage in the evening. As for extending the Gallowgate, it makes sense. Not because we'll fill it because we won't, but it will be the only chance we get once there is a large development sat behind it. While I'm not optimistic for the near future, I still think we might be half-decent again one day.

£300m? Solid oak turnstiles for that sort of cash, Sir Bobby would be delighted. Walton's joined the board to oversee a development around the stadium area, not sure what the plan is though.

Quite a turnout yesterday. Biggest of the season I reckon, bar the 5-a-side day.

You lose a bit when it's formatted, but that seems a little hefty.

The only reason the club are introducing it is to stop people buying off mates and get them from the club. More often than not (in the current climate) that person simply wont go. As for the accounts, I may not be an expert like Gem or ChezGiven, but the phrase 'run for the hills' springs to mind. Our net asset value (effectively what the club is worth if you shut up shop tomorrow) is £7m. The fact we retain a market cap of over £60m says a lot about expected future revenues from TV contracts. I'd be worried that we have a cash position of £17m overdrawn with the bulk of this season's cash income already booked. There is no money to be spent. Interestingly, the appointment of Walton to the board is with regards to developments around SJP which could result in re-financing. The best man for the job is the poacher-turned-gamekeeper- I'm assuming he was a relationship director for Barclays given the report mentions a '10 year association' with the club.

1ish I guess, depends what time the tuk-tuk man clocks on. -
So I buy a few CDs, go to the checkout but it takes me to the 'oustanding order' screen. Tried twice in recent days and on both occasions it refuses to go to the checkout. Is anyone else having this problem?

2 mins drive, 15 mins walk. Usually the former! One of the perks of the job.

Lot of the stuff is worth the cash tbh. I paid £18 for this shaving cream, the tube lasts for ages. Also have the benefit of not gettin endless spots/rashes after shaving. If you can get away with it fine, but I'd sooner shell out and not itch and burn.

A facial cleaner with glycolic acid will help. Sk:n on Grey Street have a good range, otherwise online there is http://www.skinstore.co.uk/default.aspx

Provided there's no traffic, there'll be a fair bit over the Team Valley and Blaydon Bridge, though not as much as the usual Southbound hell. A guy at work does Bensham-Cramlington in about 40 mins.

The local MP for Blyth Valley is a twat of the highest order and comes second last only should the BNP choose to run a candidate. While my local wards generally vote Labour, its all Conservatives and LibDems in the council elections.

So it's looking like next week then. Gateshead's a bit of an arse to get to, but if needs must...

It's a hazy memory, but I think I won the Hop, Skip and Jump at the Sports day when I was 6. Other than that, I was always shite at everything and would be one of the last picked.

Does You've Been Framed still give out £50 a time?

I think Dave was going to sort it, but he's gone quiet after his knee injury comment.

I agree, firmly on the defensive. Just co-incidence that contract talks are on hold? Maybe not.
-
I don't mind what time, how late can we leave it to book it?
-
I've got a drawer full of horrors but I'll go with Lets Get Rocked by Def Leppard. Shite.

How's the Academy gonna cope man? At a guess, they'll play all the latest tunes early on, then try to intersplice cult films, loop that soundbite from that biker film ad nauseum, play Strawberry Fields and think they're psychadelic then a melange of late 70s and early 80s (Love Will Tear Us Apart, Blitzkreig Bop, some Blondie).
