  1. Probably not a transformer, there's nothing particularly combustible that could knock down a building. Some sort of backup generator with a fuel dump perhaps.
  2. "Stop it man Shay, the bloke's been a pioneer of astrophysics"
  3. I've not heard anyone say anything good about Win ME, but I ran it on a laptop for five years with pretty heavy usage and it never really gave me any problems. It was a Packard Bell too, chances of that working that long are usually pretty slim. I'm with Fop, the next OS I get after XP Pro will probably be Linux-based.
  4. The road closures are for work on the new Eldon Square complex, Time Central and possibly whatever the hell they put on the Gallowgate car park. They're not opening again for 18 months or summat daft like that.
  5. Stick with it until you have no choice but to upgrade. There are loads of decent refurbs or returns that are shipping with XP Pro which for me is hard to beat as a stable Windows OS.
  6. I always thought Queudrue was a decent defender, but not in the same bracket as the likes of Bridge. If Franck is going cheap, i wouldnt see signing him as precluding any interest should Bridge become available later.

Have a good (rest of) Birthday!
  8. Just make sure you do as much freshers week stuff as your body allows. OK, so some of the people organising these things can be a bit full-on, but just go with it and see how much you can remember at the end of it. Mine was 6 years ago now
  9. Clive Lloyd got a Doctor of Laws on my Graduation day, good speech too. Rik, do you know where you'll end up on your MSc course?
  10. I needed reasonable decent grades but didn't have an interview. Shoehorn 'em in and count the readies.
  11. Depends what you're doing, which is the same for comparing unis anywhere. A decent uni may have some outstanding departments and others which fall into the 'pissup in a brewery' category.
  12. if he signs for us I'll fuck my hat. bit drastic that like He meant hand.
  13. May he soon find another job which can regain his ITK kudos!
  14. Well turned out to be an interesting night, ended up in Aspers and witness a rare old barney between some 40-something drunk who had just pissed away £400 in 5 minutes and a Chinese lad who had seen his pint spilt by the drunk bloke. Entertainment all round!
  15. Cheers Peeps. Gone well today- Watching Bedlington v Gretna felt like the CL final after so long without a game. Currently enjoying some Finlandia before a Chinese takeaway then town later on. Champion
  16. I quite like Emre, but he was garbage for most of last season. He's got to do something quickly to prove that the good form he showed when he first signed was more than just a purple patch otherwise he's going to get acquainted with the bench.
  17. This thread could easily empty my bank balance. Just invested in some FSoL, Autechre and AGF. I've only really got BoC and Squarepusher of this genre so there's a bit of space to fill yet.
  18. I was wondering this one tonight- get the DJ to stop the music and put an announcement out to stop!
  19. This has got nowt to do with shirts, just what kind of warm shite you can pay too much for in the stands.
  20. Yeah, why not? They're short of forwards these days, Alan.
  21. One of the new men, presumably- http://www.freshfields.com/pf2/Profile.asp...p;languageID=11
  22. Maybe, but given the timing of the two transactions, it looks as though someone has shifted 250,000 shares onto a third party who has lumped them with a handful of others to sell to SJHL. 09:36:38 26-Jun-2007 101.00 253,896 256,434.96 Ordinary Trade 09:35:52 26-Jun-2007 101.00 250,000 252,500.00 Market Maker to Market Maker including through IDB Impossible to tell one way or the other really.
  23. Yep, effectively he needed 3.4% from that point to gain control as beyond 90%+1 the remaining shares are as good as his. That equates to around 4.5m shares. 500,000 have gone through this morning, though they may not all be to SJHL.
  24. Why do the women's team act the victims? Do they expect to be subsidised and have their wages paid when their activities barely merit it? If they care so much, maybe they should play for free.
  25. You won't be able to sell shares via LSE. Shares could still be sold privately.
