2. aye - if freddie cant make the decision, let me. 'look graeme, iive been hugely dispointed by recent results and equally our recent performnces. in order to avoid a possible relegation dogfight i'm afraid that as of 9am tomorrow morning, we will no longer be requiring your services as manager. let us know who your solicitor is so that we can come to a mutual agreement with regards to our contractual obligations. now fuck off'. 87534 why the need for the pre-amble? The final two words should suffice...
3. I seriously think nothing will happen this season, which makes me think we could well be playing Championship football next season - that happens and I totally blame Shepherd, and I don't give a fuck how much Leazes will protest! 87522 but you told him to back Souness, he's doing what you and the others wanted him to do ! 87526 you make it up as you go along - i've never told him to back Souness....

I think you'll find this is the first thread on the board (which still exists).... http://www.toontastic.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3 The thread numbers and not just asthetic you know Rob!
7. Is that including his alleged £100,000 a week wages? 87211 We've managed to knock him down 10k a week? Excellent. Allegedly. 87213 The fat bastard is obiously doing something other than pulling in his dividend - let's give him the freedom of the city tbh!
8. Haven't we had a thread along these sort of lines before?? http://www.toontastic.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=236
9. I blame the fans. 87096 Not all the fans though, just the ones who blindly support the team and perpetuate this mediocrity. 87097 Perpetual....... Now what does that remind me of?
10. If he has played his last game, he's cost us £1.6m per game or £2.3m per goal.... Either way, that doesn't look good. But as has been said, no-one's fault really...
11. I was being a bit liberal where Shearer is concerned tbh, but I remember him being out a few times over the years and we desperately missed him... Everyone remembers the ligament damage in 1997, but there's been significant periods since then when he was injured...
12. Keep me out of it - whatever their extra-curricular activities are, they can do them without my involvement
13. The money could certainly have been better spent, but without Owen we would almost certainly get relegated. What is it, 6 points from the games he's missed? I blame Souness for the state we're in, yes, but in a more global sense than the signing of one player. You have to look at the bigger picture on who he got rid off as well. We should never have had to rely purely on one injury prone striker. 87066 If he'd only had more cash though he could have brought in a few more injury prone strikers. 87072 Not that long ago that we relied heavily on the injury prone Craig Bellamy and before that, an injury prone Alan Shearer. We went to shit when they were out of action as well IIRC - Souness's fault?
14. If that's true we may well have seen the last of him in a black and white shirt
15. It still saddens me to think that if Robson had been given £50m in July 2003, we'd possibly still be a Top 4 team now. We were just a defensive midfielder and one or two defenders away from being a top team. What we needed at the time was 3-4 new faces. That's where Shepherd keeps going wrong - he backs the wrong managers at the wrong time. 86990 I agree with that, especially the bit about timing. Whatever you think about him, the timing of the dismissal of Dalglish was absurd, and I would also add he clearly didn't do his homework on his replacement. Gullit had to go when he did, but it was just good fortune that Robson was availble. And the timing and nature of Robson's sacking was nothing short of disgraceful. And now he is keeping on a manager who is clearly damaging the club - why? Because he gave a third rate manager a ridiculously lucrative contract with no option to sack him when he didn't produce. And now we can't afford to sack him because Shepherd has blown all the money on supporting him buying third rate players. Hardly good chairmanship, is it? I've said it before and I'll say it again. This club needs a professional acting chief executive to make the football decisions - Shepherd has proven time and time again he is incompetent in this respect. The blame ultimately lies at the top, it always does. 86995 Totally agree with that... The big 4 clubs (Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool & Chelsea) all operate with a chairman and a chief executive running the footballing side of things with great effect. We used to have a chief executive in the Keegan days in the form of Freddie Fletcher. We were more successful back then as well
16. Fucking cushy job Fred has there, isn't it?? Gets paid a whopping great dividend for his troubles as well....
17. Nicky Butt is a prime example - people were chuffed to bits when we signed him!
18. I think they are, and whats more Craig in his desperation to blame Shepherd for anything he sees fitc - including the fact it didn't snow at Xmas - is forgetting the fact that he has spent 26m quid on Owen and Luque - which is actually courtesy of Souness' incompetence, the manager he backed to give time to be successful, not Shepherds. Surely if Luque is half what some people are cracking him up to be we wouldn't need to be considering such players anyway 86971 You think I'm forgetting the fact that we signed them? Fact of the matter is LM, Freddy could have stopped those transfers if he'd wanted.... 86982 No Craig, a GOOD chairman lets his manager MANAGE....and like a lot of you said, "back him or sack him", well he backed him, he did what you asked. I said sack the twat though. 86984 When did Shepherd come out and back him? He came out and said that the current performance was not acceptable and that we couldn't blame it all on the injuries, but I don't actually recall him publically stating that the manager has his full backing... Expect a "if he doesn't sack him, he must be backing him" response which is ridiculous tbh.
