With all the talk of which forwards will go to the WC thought id start a thread on it. So, Sven is to take 4 forwards to Germany - who would you take? Owen Ashton Bent Crouch No one could fill Rooneys role but a slightly different role putting Ashton in there for strength and power could prove a good alternative. Crouch is never a starter and Bent might play better up on his own with Gerrard and Lampard supporting him with someone like Carrick sitting deeper.

i dont think you can say that we have lowered expectations - glenn has exceeded all expectations of him to get us where we are. He has done a fantastic job with the same team who was staring relegation in the face had the results not turned around. We've had big name managers in the past and while theyve attracted big names, they havent had the best out of them. Sam Allardyce isnt a big name but he's attracted some big names to Bolton because he has built up a reputation for what he's done with with the players he has. Any manager is only as good as the results they get

He's done the simple things well - playing people in their preferred positions and keeping it tactically simple. We've been decimated by injuries for yet another season, losing players like Owen, Dyer, Parker, Taylor et al in a fairly small squad would hit any team hard. The team has no doubt improved since Souness left

Joking aside, a Smart isn't a bad car if look for a small city car. It's right that the company is struggling as it made heavy losses in recent years (their head quarters are close to where I live, a friend got sacked as they had to cut jobs). So they stopped the production of the roadster as it wasn't selling very well. No wonder because the car looks shite and isn't very handy (and if you want a small roadster you are in fact better of with a Mazda). If I was going to buy a Smart it would only be the "normal" one. 103100[/snapback] Probs disagree with you there like, ive got an 1.6 MX5 which is great, but im now being forced to sell it as ive just bought a house and im doing silly miles to work (not 35k a year mind). My sister has a Smart Roadster which ive driven and i think that it is different to the 5, but its got amazing roadholding and is more like driving a go kart than anything else. Its much lower to the ground than the 5. Downside to the Smart is that it has lots of problems with leaking seals and the auto gearbox is too slow.

If nothing else, Roeders made this job look a lot easier to take on that it was before GS was sacked. At least now Fred has the opportunity to wait until the end of the season, see what kind of a job Roeder does and takes time over the next appointment
