Don't think we disgraced ourselves at all. First half, we were nervous and didn't get any momentum. Their goal was a rare moment of falling asleep which you can't do against City. Thought we looked more positive and especially once we subbed Barnes and Anderson on. Longstaff did ok for me. Wilson offered a more direct threat, just a shame he chose to go the other way for his one on one..

We are in the game in the 2nd half against the European champions . We are doing ok.

Loads of time to sort it, think we've been cagey, but we've played well defensively bar the goal. Going forward we've been too afraid to lose it. I think there's a few out there just not getting into gear. Gordon has had glimpses but none of our play has been that threatening. City have been excellent with their press though.

We haven't really employed a press yet. We've let them have the ball but their press has been immediate and taken it straight back off us..

A mate of mine lives near Hall at the minute. He said he helps out at the local cricket club and is regularly seen coaching youth football in the village. Seems like a good kid and probably fits the mould that the club is looking for.

I'm sure there will be a few outgoings from our squad over the next week or so. We do seem to be overloaded with keepers and midfielders. Given we've got Burn, Schar, Botman and Lascelles (and Dummett if needed) at CB I think we will be ok. If a CB does come in then that has to be a 10/10 window. We've got good cover in Midfield, up front 2 to rotate. Probably need to look at nurturing some youth striker for the future. Great depth, really intelligent, forward thinking by the club. Our acquisitions on and off the field are off the scale compared to what we've been used to.

Unbelievable to think Man Utd are paving the way for a Greenwood return. I know many have escaped conviction be it not enough evidence, false evidence, victim declining to prosecute etc but from what was put out in the public domain, it would appear that what was alleged was true.

With La Liga being dull, why does everyone want to go to Madrid? It's a bit like the SPL, only warmer. I can see they get Champs League football every year but most other top clubs are guaranteed now, with the way that CL is structured.

Wolves are winning all the second balls. Man Utd seem to be getting the clear chances but they're not convincing going forward or defending.

A huge statement to the rest of the league that we mean business, our "purple patch" isn't one, we are just a top drawer side. Villa played into our hands with their defensive line, lesser teams will set up much deeper and compact to try and stifle our play. It'll be games like that where we need to be creative to get goals. It's still hard to believe how far we have come in such a short space of time. I'd go game after game not expecting a single goal, yesterday I was pissed off we didn't score the other three.
