Bench looks very inexperienced. Setanta cant stop talking Newcastle like. Arsenal hardly mentioned.

KK bigging up Shola again. Hope the confidence boost does something for him.

Fucking John McCririck on Satanta in black & white

I wonder how many times the commentators will make reference to Milners departure, Barton being a bad boy and how weak defensively we usually are.

4-1 West Ham from Cole

Chance to prove something. He didnt want to go so now he has to justify his decision to stay. If we had Milner, Spiderman probably would have played behind MO.

Hull have offered it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/go/homepage/d/int/spo...ity/7589224.stm

Quite a lot of games with lots of goals, particularly favouring one side. Lets hope that we arent the victims today of a similar result.

Goes to show that madness surrounds any british transfer. £7m for a player who's hardly played a first team game for Man Utd, scores 15 goals in the Championship. Im sure Stroller could do that job. £9m for SWP (Cheap in comparison) to £7m for this guy, £12m for Milner and £15m for Bentley

I dont think you get many "Council scum" in these days to be honest. The prices are too much for them. You do however, get people from working class backgrounds who make an honest living, and spend probably a large proportion of their disposable income on a ST. To be fair, the C word is pretty heavy in a public space. I also cant stand the pissed up individuals who cant see further than the row in front of them who constantly berate everything and everyone on the pitch. They just serve as amusement and a distraction for those around them.

Id love if the Robinho deal fell through. All those Chelsea fans counting their chickens and buying Robinho shirts Brilliant.

KK said that the Milner money will be his to spend but it didnt matter anyway because he had money to spend on who he wants. Also said his phone hasnt stopped ringing from agents phoning him up but says he only wants top quality and would rather make do till January with this squad than sign rubbish After a promising start, we should be trying to build on that. If you take away some of the first teamers, theres absolutely nothing beyond them. Who will play right midfield now? Guti?

For MA, great £12m quid back into the club minus the money to Bates. For the fans what? Its not going in our pockets and the only return we'll see is if we replace what we've sold with players who are going to improve on that. I think now that another regular first team player has gone, im now thinking of pressing the panic button tomorrow morning rather than tomorrow afternoon. I hope and pray that the signings KK is talking about materialise and theyre not just last minute squad fillers which we've seen coming through the door as the window has closed in previous seasons.

which is a good thing imo +1

Our effective squad (ignoring current injuries) stands at around 20. Not great. depressing, despite doing well in our last 3 games

He seems to know a lot about well-to-do folk though

Wasps fan: jolly god game "Quins fan": yerrrrrs Wasps fan: did you watch that spiffing game at the Epsom Polo club on Saturday? Quins fan: yerrrs wasn't it magnificent Wasps: Giles Taylor-Brown is one for the future Quins: I'm acquainted with his father from the Lodge Wasps: The new "AFRICAN" type has to go Quins: Splendid point, Uncle Urquhart would turn in his grave Now why would you need a police presence for that type of cunt? It's boring. We need council estate scum in football matches. Stevie, im not talking about fucking wasps/harlequins. Im on about Council scum from places like Castleford/Bradford/Wigan/Warrington. They have shit holes down there just like we have up here. You're stood on terraces and if you're one of the "posh cunts" then you get to sit in a box which is a porta cabin with a fridge and a couple of seats in.

Ive been to both Football and Rugby games (Not so much a fan, but interested to watch it) and the biggest difference noted here is the police presence. Now at Rugby games, you get fans of both clubs stood side by side. In football, they have to be separated. Why is it that our sport has to be managed completely different to another ball game? Im not talking upper class union, im talking rugby league in the heartlands of where the game grew up. There are always gonna be numpties going to matches who will cause trouble but theyre in the minority. Its good that the racism & violence has been very much taken away from Stadia, but the real essence of the game, the passion of the fans and the feeling of unity that you get with the people around you is slipping. Seating probably doesnt help this, but neither does "over policing" of the event. The author of that piece makes reference to a lad running up the stairs with a pint in his hand, not taking his seat but observing a goal and being locked up for it. Thats over policing, and more about a figures game than crowd control. In the family enclosure, no swearing - fine. Kids are there, maybe parents dont want to let their kids hear it so they make a choice to sit in that area. The majority of other supporters are lads who have grafted hard for the week, pay a hefty chunk of that money for their fix on a Saturday lunchtime/afternoon/Sunday so why cant they be entitled to enjoy the game for what it was and still should be? If people are offended by swearing, dont go to the game or sit in the family enclosure. Its your choice. If you want a taste of what football should be about, without the greed of a governing body, go to a game in league 1 or 2 and just see how it is. Its a lot less sanitised than it is in the Premier League.

Ill press the panic button on Satda

Im in agreement with .com here like, theyve pretty much hit the nail on the head for me. There are others in the queue which should be sold first. Milner is better than Taylor in his position yet because Taylor is a "Geordie", he gets a new contract and people are happy with him. Let it be put this way. You're working your bollocks off at work, and you're a steady worker. Your mate who has been spouting his mouth off about getting a wage increase is on the same money as you. He does no more work than you do. All of a sudden, your boss gives him a tasty pay rise and all of a sudden, he's driving around in a Brand new M3 while you're still running a company Vectra. You continue working hard thinking that eventually your hard work will be noticed however it never materialises. After a while you get a bit disinterested so you go looking for a new job. You find one and then say you're thinking of leaving having received a better offer. At this time of the season when we're on the bare bones of our arses, the last thing we want is to start punting players off to other clubs. We'll never bring anyone in to replace them in time.

Stevie, spot on about Milner, my sentiments about the lad echo yours. If he was plying his trade elsewhere than Newcastle, im sure if he was mentioned as a target, there would be a lot of people wanting us to sign him. He does have the tools to make a very good PL player. Im very impressed with all the signings of this summer so far, and hope that our eye for a good player is reflected in our next few signings before the window closes. Maybe Keegan can get an extra 10% out of players with the way that he goes about things. Bassong obviously wasnt great in France as he was a bit part player and went for little money. He does seem to be pretty good at picking the ball of attackers though and doesnt seem to panic.

Yeah, best pass of the match. I thought he was just hoofing it clear and had no idea that he'd spotted Owen's run on the far side. Genius. His defending wasnt too shabby either.
-
I think the time of Owen wanting away from the club has passed now, he seems keen and looks to be enjoying it.
