Although not knowing the full ins & outs of the Stoke deal, if the opportunity came and he turned it around only to face facts 3 months later is pretty low for him. He needs to be peddled to every Championship club for no more than £2m. We had £500k off Stoke for the loan so £2.5m on a player of that calibre is pretty good business for us.

Surely the guy doesnt deserve to be booed if he's putting the commitment in but not getting the returns? Ok it does look like hes a way off from getting a goal, but im sure that after a year of not scoring, he's probably worrying about it as well. One goal and it could be completely different for him. If Owen isnt back 1st game and he's still here, he'll have a chance to do that against his old club where im sure he'll be fired up for it.

FT. Really encouraging to see a lot of effort from all of the attacking players. Mixed it up well, ran at them and had the ability to play a variety of balls in. Looked sharp throughout the game. Lets hope this KK ideology of some of the fittest PL players pays off. Duff looks a different player, Guthrie was industrious with Milner, and Guti looked tricky.

Like has been said, you always know its going to happen but its still very sad news to hear it so bluntly. Obviously the papers have put a twist on things as Bob said sooner rather than later but he could yet fight on for another year or 18 months who knows. Itll be a very sad day for Football and the North East the day it does happen though
